ONEOSEVEN Just Might Make You Want to Use Soap on Your Face Again

Soap. The word conjures up images of the sterile white bars that you might see in a prison shower or at the very least, memories of the harsh, stripping cleansers you used to use before you became a follower of K-beauty.

So it might sound strange that I’m suggesting you use a bar of soap on your face, but hear me out. You’ll be pleasantly surprised. We’re going to talk about the ONEOSEVEN Premium Black Soap and how it is one of the most delightful cleansers I’ve used in recent times.

Founded by Okran Chung, a Korean pharmacist who also just so happens to own the largest fermented vinegar brewery in Korea, ONEOSEVEN prides itself on using natural ingredients of the highest quality in its formulations. So let’s back up — exactly what is the ONEOSEVEN Premium Black Soap, and what makes it so special? First of all, it’s made from 7-year-old naturally fermented vinegar (and we know how I feel about fermented things). The vinegar acts as a primary cleansing agent, working to gently remove and cleanse the skin from dirt, pollution, grime, and acne-causing bacteria. It’s ideal for those with oily, congested, and troubled skin.

The ONEOSEVEN Premium Black Soap is unlike any soap I have ever used before. If anyone knows me in real life, they know I am quite dramatic (I went to school for theater) and tend to get very emotional about the skincare I enjoy. My favorite, Jen from Beautibi sent me samples of this soap while I was living in Phuket, and when I first used it — no lie — I legit gasped out loud in shock and amazement. Then I texted her in all caps about how much I love it because that’s what I do.

It smells like a hanbang dream and lathers into this ridiculous lush, rich foam. You kind of want to keep rubbing your face forever while you’re washing your face because it just feels so nice! It’s one of those products where from the first moment you try it, you’re like “whoa, this is something special.” It’s like wrapping your face in a luxurious cashmere foam cocoon. Trust me on this. I didn’t know that a bar of soap could produce a foam that feels so plush and nourishing!

Not only does it smell nice and have a really nice lather, it actually removes all of my leftover makeup my oil cleanser left behind without drying out or stripping my skin. I know there are some people who say the soap is too drying for their faces so they use it as a body soap (which is honestly the most amazing idea I’ve ever heard, and I can’t wait to try this and see how it is for myself).

So in short, this soap is a luxurious dream and it feels like a pillow on your skin. It completely changes the notion that soaps are these gross, boring products — it’s the exact opposite of that. It’s a gorgeous product!
