Leaders is famous for their sheet masks, but with so many on offer, how does one pick the right mask? So we tasked contributing editor Sheryll with testing out the five newest lines of Leaders sheet masks (over a looong hydration-soaked weekend — it's tough being a beauty editor!). She — and her now juicy skin — breaks them down for us.

If you’re looking for a good quality sheet mask, look no further than Leaders. Whether you’re a sheet mask newbie or a die-hard aficionado, Leaders is that girl.

I know, there are like 1 million different sheet mask brands out there now, so what makes Leaders special? Well, Leaders had its beginnings as a high-end medical spa, but the clients begged the dermatologists to start a line of products they could use to heal themselves at home after their procedures. So a team of dermatologists from the top schools in Seoul (think the Harvards and Yales of Korea) came together to develop their line of highly sophisticated sheet masks, and BOOM. Leaders, as we know it, was born.

Now you might be looking at the list of Leaders sheet masks completely overwhelmed. I get it, there are a ton to choose from! Which is why I have done some of the hard work for you and have tested multiple masks from all of their lines, so I can give you the 411. Are you ready to get your life?

Insolution Treatment line

The Leaders Insolution Treatment line is dedicated to delivering science-backed results for common skincare issues like acne, dry skin, and aging. The masks feature active ingredients for targeted results, including tea tree extract, snail filtrate, and adenosine. If you’re having some specific skincare issues that you want resolved while relaxing in the comfort of your own home, this is the line for you. It’s like a medical grade spa treatment at home. Woohoo!

The masks in the Insolution Treatment line are made from premium, biodegradable cotton. They don’t adhere to the skin like the coconut gel masks do, but they have an excellent fit. My skin has been going through it with my hormonal acne issues, so I tried the AC Clear Treatment Mask.

The AC Clear mask provides treatment to stressed, irritated, and acne-prone skin, while balancing oil using snail filtrate and tea tree extract. It smells faintly of tea tree, but it isn’t overwhelming at all. The mask is absolutely saturated with essence, plus extra in the packaging to slather on after you finish masking (my favorite part). This mask is slightly drippy, so I used this while reading a book and drinking some tea, as I didn’t want to move around too much.

Listen, if you’re experiencing any type of skin woes, or you anticipate that you’ll have some in the future, then you need to keep a stock of this mask handy because it is EVERYTHING. I had a cluster of healing whiteheads around my jawline and the morning after I used this mask, they had decreased in size. The rest of my skin was soft, smooth, hydrated, and actually looked healthy. I need a backup of 10 immediately.

Insolution Renewal line

The Insolution Renewal line is like the sibling to the Insolution Treatment line. Instead of targeting specific skincare woes, the Insolution Renewal line is designed to increase the overall health of your skin by balancing, hydrating, and soothing the skin. The Renewal line is meant to be used daily to help keep your skin healthy and glowing.

Like the Treatment masks, the masks in the Renewal line are made from high quality, biodegradable cotton. I tried the Aloe Soothing Renewal Mask after I used my weekly chemical exfoliation treatment, since I knew my skin would need some extra TLC, and listen, some extra TLC it got!

The Aloe Renewal Mask is designed to soothe irritated, sensitive skin using aloe vera extract. There’s also some cactus extract in there to help give your skin an extra dose of hydration. It’s a really good mask to use after sun exposure or any sort of laser treatment. Like I said earlier, winter is in full effect in Atlanta, and my skin has been super dry recently, especially my cheeks and forehead. I wanted to really treat myself with this mask, so I placed my mask in the freezer for five minutes to get a little cool after my shower, and oh my gosh, it was like HEAVEN. My skin felt more calm, more hydrated, and the essence wasn’t super drippy either. Afterwards, my skin felt very supple and extremely hydrated, almost like I’d gone and had a spa treatment. I was really, really impressed.

7 Wonders line

The 7 Wonders line is dedicated to making you feel like you are on a tropical island getaway and are touted as a “facial-in-a-sheet.” MOOD. The masks that are in the 7 Wonders line are all made from exotic plant extracts from different parts of the world, like Amazonian Açai, Caribbean Coconut, and Tundra Cranberry. Each of the masks are made from coconut bio cellulose, which ensures a smooth, snug fit.

The packaging of the 7 Wonders line is absolutely gorgeous and definitely stick to the whole “tropical vacation” vibe — think brightly colored fruits, plants, and flowers.

I tried the Kalahari Melon Moisturizing mask on a night that was especially cold and dry. Kalahari melon is the ancient ancestor of the watermelon we know today, and Leaders took the oil and extracts from it to create a mask that deeply hydrates and soothes dry, tired skin. According to Leaders, the Kalahari melon contains “linoleic, oleic, and palmitic fatty acids to reinforce your skin’s healthy barrier function and lock in moisture.” We all know a healthy skin barrier is the first step to glowing skin!

Atlanta got hit with a bad cold front, and my skin was like … OHH GIRL, lemme try this mask to relieve some of my skin’s stress. Thanks to that gorgeous coconut cellulose, the mask adhered to the skin like glue, so I could move around while masking. You know how some masks are too wet or drippy to really do anything but lay there? Not this one. I got all of my nighttime chores done without being inconvenienced by essence dripping into my eyes. And afterwards, my skin was insanely hydrated and supple. All I had to do was top with an emulsion and some rosehip oil and I was done!

Juicy line

Sticking to the whole tropical vacation theme, the Juicy line of masks by Leaders is inspired by fruity cocktails. Similar to the 7 Wonders line, the Juicy line is also made of a coconut gel, although a tad thinner than the coconut bio cellulose of the 7 Wonders line.

There are two masks in the Juicy Line, the Pina Colada and Mojito, and features ingredients like coconut water, pineapple extract, peppermint extract, and lime peels. Not gonna lie, I was a bit nervous to try these. The packaging and the whole concept in general just screamed “gimmicky heavily perfumed madness,” but I was shook.

I tried the Pina Colada mask, which is made with niacinamide (mood), coconut water, pineapple extract, plus various other ingredients designed to brighten dull, tired skin. When taking it out of the package, I was hit with a very sweet, tropical scent (as I expected), BUT the scent thankfully didn’t linger while the mask was on my skin. Thanks to the coconut gel mask, it adhered to my skin perfectly, without any drippy essence. I let it stay on for about 30 minutes, but it was still pretty damp. I was really, really surprised with how bright and glowy PLUS hydrated my skin was afterward. Again, I wasn’t expecting much because it seemed so gimmicky, but it ended up being one of the best masks I tried out of the bunch.

Daily Wonders line

The Daily Wonders line is like the fun, flirty cousin to the Insolution masks. Leaders touts itself as a very serious, science-based sheet mask line (which they are), but they decided to let their hair down with masks named Breakup with your Ex-Skin Cells, What Happened Last Night?, and Detox and Chill. It’s like a Millennial dream!

The Daily Wonders line is meant to be used (as the name says) daily to help improve your skin’s resilience, texture, and hydration levels. They are made with a high-grade cotton like many Leaders masks, saturated with good-for-your-skin essence.

I tried the Breakup with your Ex-Skin Cells mask, designed to exfoliate and clarify the skin using witch hazel and alpine willow herb extract. If you have dull skin and are dealing with those pesky clogged pores (aka me), then this is the one for you to try. The mask has a comfortable fit and stayed soaked with essence for the full 30 minutes that I wore it. Afterwards, I took some of the leftover essence from the package (it had enough for another few days) and slathered it on my skin for an extra hydration boost. It left my combo, acne flared-up skin feeling really soft and healthy. The redness around my jawline from my breakout had decreased and was much less noticeable the next day. I stan!!

Have you tried any Leaders sheet masks? Which one is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
