Be a Multitasking Queen: 5 Things You Can Do While You Sheet Mask

Why just sheet mask when you can sheet mask AND be productive af? Become a multitasking queen with these 5 sheet mask activity pairings that will have you living your best life.

Sheet masks are life. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I looooove me a good sheet mask. Like a lot of other activities in my life, I have certain moods that match with certain sheet masks. Sometimes I just wanna relax and watch TV while wearing a sheet mask, but other times, I’m running late on my nighttime/sleep routine (yes, I have an entire sleep routine because insomnia is no fun), and I need a sheet mask I can put on while I do the rest of my tasks — making coffee, getting my puppy her food, prepping breakfast for the AM, etc. So behold: my list of my favorite sheet mask activity pairings!

1. Sheet mask & Netflix

When it’s time to settle in for a movie or TV night with Netflix, I like to choose a mask that will stay nice and hydrated for at least 45 minutes. Who wants to pause right in the middle of a show just to take off a sheet mask? I don’t.

That’s why I go for the Leaders Aqua Blend Hydrating Oil Pocket sheet mask. These masks are super cool — there’s a little packet of oil at the top of the mask that you fold down and “pop” into the sheet mask and its essence. You then mash the oil around and, voilà! You have a mask that not only has an amazing, hydrating essence but a nice little touch of oil in there to help keep your skin healthy and balanced. And yes, they do last through an episode of your favorite TV show.

2. Sheet mask & I have things to do

Like I said earlier, sometimes I don’t have time to sit and “relax” while wearing a sheet mask. Sometimes I gotta make coffee, get breakfast together, do a load of laundry, chop veggies and prep for dinner … the list goes on. So I need a mask that’s not too drippy and will stay put even though I’m running around the house.

The Dr. Jart+ Soothing Hydra Solution mask is always my go-to on days like this. It’s made from a cellulose fiber that adheres like a second layer to your skin. It’s packed with essence, but most of it gets absorbed immediately into skin, so you don’t have to worry about it dripping into your eyes, nose, or mouth. PLUS it does an amazing job of delivering a powerful hydrating punch.

3. Sheet mask & wine

Have you had a long day at work? Celebrating a special occasion? Or just in the mood for a glass of wine? Wine and sheet masking is one of my all-time favorite things to do. I always feel like such a glamorous woman, relaxing with a glass in hand while making sure my skin is on point. What a vibe.

You want a mask that will adhere well and won’t slip and slide around, all while having a mouth hole big enough that allows you to sip in peace. My choice? The Wonjin Effect Withbee Honey Bomb Mask. The essence is jam-packed with honey, royal jelly, and propolis, skin nourishing ingredients that are packed into an ultra lightweight mask that won’t fall off of your face. AND BONUS, it’s actually a three-step mask, complete with a hydrating milky toner and an ampoule, so you don’t even have to leave your cozy wine nest to finish the rest of your routine. Score!

4. Sheet mask & scroll through Instagram stories

I do my best Instagram scrolling laying down on the couch, head propped up on a pile of pillows. This is the time I like to choose my juiciest mask … gravity takes care of the pesky drippies.

The JayJun Anti-Dust Whitening Mask (one of my all-time favorite masks, BTW), is juicy AF. The essence is a DREAM. It’s milky and lightweight and features my skin brightening bae niacinamide for a glow that’s out of this world. By the time you finish tapping through that 20th Instagram story, you’re skin will be a dewy, glowing dream.

5. Sheet mask & podcast

I’m a big fan of listening to a podcast before I go to bed at night. I try (keyword, try) to stop looking at all electronic devices about an hour before bed, so podcasts are a way to catch me up on current events or to learn something new —plus they help me wind down for the night.

I enjoy a relaxing podcast experience, so I tend to go for something a bit “spa” like, like the 23 Years Old Rose Gold 24 mask. It’s a big, big mood — French rose water, Centella asiatica, and real gold work to hydrate and nourish your skin. This mask doesn’t have a mouth hole, but hey, that doesn’t matter, because you’re listening, not talking! Oh, and if you’re looking for a new podcast to listen to, SURPRISE! I, along with Coco Park (another Beautytap contributing editor), Tiffany Peterson, and Kerry Thompson have a beauty podcast called Beauty Beyond Basics. Give it a listen during your next masking session!
