About the product

What Is It:

Go to sleep a commoner and wake up as royalty with The History of Whoo Hydrating Overnight Mask, a sleeping mask that recharges your skin and locks in hydration! This mask uses a secret recipe said to be formulated for the Korean royal court in ancient times to completely quench your skin and give new meaning to beauty sleep. The secret formula is full of ingredients used since antiquity, featuring beauty elixirs the likes of camellia flower and cheonggiksudan.
Gongjinhyang:Soo is a royal court Oriental hydration line that facilitates sooseunghwagang (sending water up and fire down), another way of saying soothing irritation and upping hydration. It moisturizes the skin through the addition of cheonggiksudan, which increases skin’s oxygen levels, and eunhasoo, which supplies purified moisture to the skin. The mask has an instant soothing effect, completely refreshing your skin and relieving it of any stresses caused by UV exposure and general air pollution. While you get a good night’s sleep, The History of Whoo Hydrating Overnight Mask will continue to nourish and repair your skin. Think of this mask as a reset button for your face. Your skin will be plumper, brighter, and downright majestic by morning!

Our insight:

Apply this mask with delicate brush strokes from a soft bristled brush for an extra luxe experience, keeping in line with its regal history!
Blog Adventures Of A Celiac In NYC compared the mask to competing sleeping masks; here’s what she had to say:

For the moment it’s my favorite hydrating mask. I’m supposed to put it on with the brush that comes with it, but I prefer to use my fingers. It’s very lightweight and it sinks in in seconds. It has a gel-like texture, and it leaves no film on my skin, unlike some other sleeping masks. It’s fragranced, but the smell is not overpowering, unlike some other The History of Whoo products; it’s not a traditional hanbang smell, but a mild flower-y kind of smell that goes away quickly. I love how soft and moisturized my skin is the next morning; I will definitely repurchase this mask when I run out.
