Kim Kimble has a great thing going here. She has a great thing going here by offering this line at Walmart. Her goal is to provide quality products to many. My expertise lies in hair care and styling with hot tools is a regular part of my routine. This iron is a great size. A 1" iron gives the styler a lot of options for curl pattern. With a 1" iron a person can create curls, waves, and smooth volume. The barrel consists of very good material. Heat is consistent from tip to handle. It warms up quickly. There is a thermostat on the iron which is great. Some hair does not need such high heat. I recommend trying 365 degrees for normal hair types. If you experience any steam or smoke, please turn it down ten degrees and try again. This is for any styling tool. High heat is for dense, hard to heat, thick hair. Turn the heat down according to your hair. The only thing I would like to see from this iron is a longer cord. I realize that normal home sue tools typically come with a six-foot cord. However, when using this tool on clients or on others, the cord length creates a challenge. As a beauty enthusiast, I love tools and gadgets. It doesn't matter if it's skincare, makeup, or hair. I love trying new products but to be honest I am not the biggest expert in hot tools. I only occasionally use curlers, blow dryers, or any of the sort. However, I loved the Kim Kimble Celebrity Series Tourmaline Ceramic 1′ Digital Curling Iron. I did have a slight learning curve but once I got the hang of it, my curls came out so pretty! The curling iron reaches 450 degrees and it heats up quickly! The tangle-free swivel cord is awesome! It helps to keep the cord out of the way especially if you have super long hair. My curls lasted about 3 days with hair spray and using the Kim Kimble heat protectant. I was given the opportunity to try Kim Kimble's Celebrity Series 1" tourmaline ceramic digital curling iron and was very excited to see how it would perform. My hair is thick with a mixture of fine and very course strands, which usually fall into a non-uniform wave pattern when air dried. I typically like to use some kind of heat tool to add more uniformity to my wave pattern, and believe me-- I've tried many, many different tools over the years. Out of the box, the Kim Kimble tourmaline ceramic iron looks sleek. I would even say it looks more expensive than some tools twice the price. When you turn it on, you have an easy-to-read digital display that allows you to set the desired temperature within a pretty precise range (in small increments), all the way up to 450*F. The big selling point with this curling iron is the speed at which it heats: once set to temperature, I was ready to start curling in less time than it took me to grab a hairbrush. Seriously, it came to temperature within seconds! I primed the hair with Kim Kimble's thermal protectant spray and got to work. I like to start with a moderate temperature since my hair is dry and fragile, so I set to 325*F. I was a little underwhelmed with the results, so I bumped it up to 375*F. I won't say it's the most stellar curling tool I have ever used, but I can confidently say it's the best I've used in the below-$30 range. I've been burned by cheap tools in the past (literally, one of them burned my hair off and another ripped it out because of cheap hardware); the Kim Kimble Celebrity Series iron did none of that. The only reason I rate it 4 stars is because I had to use more setting spray than usual to get an all-day hold, but if you're looking for a well-made iron that's easy-to-use and won't break the bank-- try this one out. **This review was created through an educational promotional event hosted between the brand and beauty experts.**
