About the product

What Is It:

The product contains forest yeast, which is a special ingredient that will help recover your skin even after 16 hours. This ingredient is even more effective than madecassoside, which showed a surprising 111.9% skin recovery rate. Do not forget to apply especially before your sleep, as this will be a great help in protecting your skin from external factors the next day.

How to use:

Place this on the end of your list of skincare routine every night. Apply over the face, gently massaging it. Sleep without washing this off, wash your face the next morning. If you feel that your skin is dry and sensitive, apply one or two times more and this may be effective in calming your skin. Apply this on your neck as well, if necessary.

Brand info:

Since 1994, Laneige has long been an iconic Korean beauty brand. But it wasn’t until it launched its innovative mineral water technology — clinically proven to hydrate for 24 hours — that Laneige was poised for world domination. Arguably the industry leader in preaching the importance of skin hydration to the West, Laneige’s signature Water Bank line is now a staple in mass market stores across the U.S. In addition to a wide range of skincare products, Laneige also offers color cosmetics, including their cult favorite Two Tone Lip Bar and Lip Sleeping Mask.

As a long-time Sulwhasoo fan, I have trouble finding sleeping masks from other brands that live up to my expectations. I sampled this recently after reading a review from hui.milly, and I'm so glad I did. Now, it's important to note that this does not compare to my Sulwhasoo favorites, nor do I expect it to. That said, my sample gave me a chance to use this four nights in a row, and each morning I work up with well hydrated skin that was calm and even in tone. I use prescription tretinoin (Retin A) so my... Read more

Excellent! I am so happy to hear your report that this Cica mask worked for you, Tracy! Good thing the tea tree oil which you are not a fan of, is all the way on the bottom of the ingredient list. For me actually, I was so surprised this worked for me too, for I have that jar of water mask and that did nothing for me. I plan to use some of this on my upper arms and my shin where its very irritated right now and dry from this winter cold. and yes, this is a... Read more

In comparison to Laneige's Water Sleeping Mask which feels like a gel, this Cica Mask has the texture of a moisturizer. Both feel very cooling on the skin! I love putting on this mask at night and waking up with extremely soft skin.

Thank you so much for reviewing both versions of Laneige's sleeping masks. I just tried a sample of this one last night, and the texture is very nice. I didn't notice a fragrance to this, but since you mentioned it in the Water Sleeping Mask, I'm curious if you found the scent in this one bothersome or undetectable. I tried the other one years ago and can't remember the scent. Thanks for your help!

I also can't detect a fragrance in this version! It seems like there might not be a scent added to this. You're very welcome!

Thank you very much! Sometimes, I don't trust my own nose enough since I like many of the scents associated with K-beauty (like the tea tree oil in this one). I really appreciate your review and response. Have a great day! ☺️

At first touch to my fingers, this felt like butter. Applied over my face as the last step to seal everything in, this felt like Im slathering shea butter on my face. The asiatic and madecassosside, is on the bottom of the ingredients list. I think this is suited for those who want a non-fragrance, no bells and whistles kind of mask that will keep your facial moisture in. I would prefer using this over the Laneige Sleeping Mask. I know many rave over that, but it doesnt do anything for my face and Ivr had that jar of water... Read more

Well, Milly, you've officially convinced me to try this. Cica works wonders on tret-ravaged skin, so I'll sample this immediately. I doubt it'll knock the Sulwhasoo Radiance Energy Mask out of rotation, but we'll see. More soon! P.S. Toss that old jar, woman. LOL!

It wont knock the Radiance energy mask - ever. But I ran out of it. And it isn't available on their website (I keep checking LOL), or on BeautyTap. This cica will be perfect for your Tret skin. Good to give our skin a break. I also feel this might be good for eczema on hands. I used this & awoke with soft,  balanced, even skin. Kept my moisture barrier strong for hours. I never understood why the water mask was so popular in Seoul. Maybe its good for young skin. So glad we can sample this Cica mask... Read more

Looking for a mask that hydrates, revitalizes and smooths out fine lines and wrinkles all while you sleep ... then this is the mask for you. I tried this mask when my skin was having a reaction to a product my skin didn't do well with. The mask claims that "Forest Yeast" will help to stregthen the skin's moisture barrier and reducing sensitivity-- it was exactly what I needed. In the morning when I woke my skin was calm, hydrated and looked tighter. I think I found my new go to sleeping mask.

This mask is incredibly lightweight and your skin is hydrated without clogging pores or experiencing breakouts. My husband and kids use this at night because it is so light, non-sticky and you wake up with beautifully hydrated skin.

I love how light this mask is! It absorbs so well into the skin without leaving that oily feeling or oil marks on my bedding. My skin was smooth and felt hydrated! Another great benefit is that my skin is very oily, but when I woke up my skin wasn't overly moisturized. It's hard to find that for me in a sleeping mask!

This sleep mask is amazing. It has great benefits and absorbs into the skin so well. You wake up with nice flawless skin and I like that it has protectants to help our skin.

Not heavy like other overnight masks I have tried. After using my cleanser, toner, serum and regular moisturizer, I put this mask on top. It enhances the benefits of all the other products as well as bringing its own unique moisturizing formula.

Is miracle product too strong of a description?? I have tricky skin—normal to combo depending on the day, usually on the drier side in some areas and acne prone in some areas. So thick creams have never been appealing to me, or I would have to spot treat certain areas of my face with different products, which gets old. This product does the hydrating work of a thick night cream without clogging my pores or causing acne. It helps tone down my redness and leaves my skin soft and hydrated when I wake up. The packaging says use a couple... Read more

Well I'm on board. It looks thick and creamy, but my skin drank it up it felt so light and silky. Went to bed not afraid to lay my head on the pillow or worn my husband "i have a stuff on my face". I woke up with my skin feeling soft and moisturized. I've been in the sun a lot lately, so i've promised my skin to take extra better care (before and after sun fun.) My skin is happy with this one.
