What Is It:

Soothe and hydrate chronically dry skin with the Missha Time Revolution Intensive Moist Treatment. It’s formulated with a whopping 80% fermented purple barley, as well as niacinamide for a dose of brightening power. These yeast extracts, along with gemmule (another type of yeast extract) are fermented to make sure all of the vital nutrients from these ingredients are delivered quickly and easily, so your skin looks visibly smoother, softer, and more revitalized. Missha chose purple barley as the star ingredient here as it grows even in the most barren soil of the Himalayan mountains—so, yeah, it can definitely do wonders for your skin. A touch of lactic and acetic acid gently exfoliates your skin to improve texture and remove dead skin cells. This highly-concentrated essence is perfect for those with tempermental, dry, and dehydrated skin.

Our insight:

Saturate a cotton pad in essence and gently swipe across the skin after cleansing to give your skin a mega dose of hydration. If your skin still needs a little more TLC, leave a few cotton pads soaked in essence on your skin for 10-15 minutes.

How to use:

Moisten a cotton pad with 3-4 drops of the essence and smooth all over the face, gently patting and pressing palms into your face to aid absorption. Alternatively, apply essence with the palms of your hands.
Skincare tip: For more intensive moisture care, saturate 3-4 cotton pads with the essence and apply to the face as a DIY sheet mask.

Ingredients:

Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Water, Diethoxyethyl Succinate, Niacinamide, Hordeum Distichon (Barley) Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Dipropylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Polyquaternium-51, 1,2-Hexanediol, Adenosine, Lecithin, Potassium Sorbate, Cassia Alata Leaf Extract, Lactic Acid, Acetic Acid

I have dry and sensitive skin. After reading about this product in an article, I was eager to try it for myself. I used about half the bottle and didn't notice any improvement in my skin in comparison to other hydrating products. Even though the Sulwahsoo water products cost more, I feel like they really moisturize and hydrate my skin.

When I finally got the courage to try out this product, it was a downer. I wasn't able to see much change in my skin. I thought maybe the other products are messing with the effectiveness, so I stopped using most of my products and focused on this. But I still saw no change. I'm not sure if my skin just doesn't react to fermented ingredients as well as others, but I really wanted to like it.. :(

I'm 1/3 of the way through the bottle, with the only other essense I've tried to compare it to being the May Coop Raw Sauce. This is a thin consistency (expected as its mostly ferment filtrate) and my first foray into fermented essences. So far despite the tendancy it has to drip everywhere during application I've become attached to the plumping effect it has when worked into the skin. My personal favorite way to use it is to DIY a sheet mask either with soaked cotton pads or MUJI dry sheet mask tabs. When used for a sheet mask the... Read more

A former longstanding HG, this is still a great product -- I just want to explore other options. I've been using this for 3-4 years now, through several reformulations. I LOVED the original for that lightly hydrating, skin-softening first-essence glow. Even after multiple reformulations, this product still packs a punch -- it's a watery-textured first essence that softens and refreshes skin instantly on contact (though it's not hydrating enough to be used alone IMO) and that, over time, provides a kind of subtle clarity to skin that you don't notice until you stop using it and then wonder, weeks later,... I really wanted to love this, and it is quite hydrating, but I just didn't notice any real difference in my skin.

Probably my favorite item that I'm currently using. I haven't regularly used any other essences yet, but I can really tell a difference in my skin after I started using this one. I also put some in a spray bottle that I keep in my purse and use every time my face is feeling dry. I have combination skin, and it makes my whole face feel good.

This treatment help with redness, irritation and breakouts, it took a while for me to notice any difference but did worked I'm on my third bottle already has become my HG

The first facial treatment essence that I used was SKII and I love that one. It brings a glow to my dehydrated combo skin every time I use it. I decided to buy this Missha one because of many great reviews and it being a possible dupe for the SKII. Well, this is very..mediocre to me. I gave it 2 stars because it isn’t bad. But it also doesn’t give me the crystal clear glow that the SKII gives me. It hydrates a bit but nowhere near the amount that SKII does. I think it works better on some some... Read more

Honestly, I felt the same way. I'm currently using mine up now and it does feel nice. It fits that FTE type of texture I'm looking for and has the ingredients that check all the boxes but it doesn't give me that clarity that I want from a product like this. I was at Costco this past weekend and I was hunting for the SKII lol, I'll have to keep an eye out.

hchillin

Yes! I totally agree with you! I’m just going to use up this one and go back to SKII. Check online on the costco website! You can buy from there too when they have it. And keep an eye out on their catalogue for when they have it in store!

leolouie

I'll definitely have to keep my eyes peeled

I remember how upset the community was when they first reformulated the FTE, and then did it again. They really did slim down the ingredients and took out some things.... but it didn't stop working for me. This is the Korean skin care product that I'm using the longest time and I always come back to it. The funny thing is, you kind of think - what can one watery product really do... untill you stop using it. Seriously, as soon as I stop using it (out of convienience, or lack of time, or when it's empty) I really notice... Read more

I recently bought this FTE after thinking about buying it for at least a year now. I am so glad I finally made up my mind! I have only used this for about a week now, but my skin looks like it is glowing from within.

Getting fermented goodness somewhere into my skincare is always a big objective of mine and I never regret it. I feel like ti really does something special for the skin!
