About the product

What Is It:

The Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream is a cult classic for a reason. Why? Well, first of all, it’s made from a whopping 74% snail extract, an ingredient known in the K-beauty world that seals in moisture, allows your active ingredients to penetrate more deeply, smooth fine lines and wrinkles, and well as reduce acne scarring and improve texture. Basically, it’s an all-in-one ingredient that will have you living your best skincare life. We can’t forget to tell you about the other ingredients though—look for hyaluronic acid that delivers a dose of skin-plumping hydration without an oily feel, adenosine, and peptides that protect the skin from aging or a range of natural botanical extracts that combine to rejuvenate the skin. This lightweight, gel-like cream is perfect for those with oily, acne-prone and combination skin.

I am a big snail cream fan, this is more of a gel, it goes on nice, cool, refreshing, but the hydration does not last. :( Good light product for summer.

I had never heard about nail secretion/extract till I started working for beautytap. At first I was a bit hesitant but as soon as I read the insight on how it was good for oily, acne-prone skin I was like why not give it a try! I’ve been using it since May and I absolutely love it! It feels so refreshing, smooth, non sticky or heavy. So far it hasn’t caused me to break out so that’s a plus!

I've become a big fan of snail creams and this one doesn't disappoint. I still prefer Missha Snail Essence cream but this one is close by comparison and it's a little easier on the pocketbook than Missha. So, if you are on a budget and you are looking to try out a good snail cream, this is a good place to start. On a side note- I suffer from eczema on my hands and decided to apply a tiny bit of the cream to a particularly dry spot on my palm before bed. Woke up in the morning and... Read more

I completely forgot about using this on eczema! I have it on my hands under my rings. Thanks for the reminder!

I had to jump on the snail bandwagon to see what the fuss was about. After reading the reason snail secretion is used,(to seal in moisture and product nutrients) it makes more sense to me. It certainly did its job, leaving a nice silky consistency behind.

I’m trying this product out this week. I’m a big fan of Missha snail cream so I’m curious to see how this one will be in comparison. I’ll be back in the days to come with an honest review! :)

I Looovee this! It’s amazing it sinks into the skin pretty fast and the gel texture its great for those with oily skin that hate the feeling of cream or lotion on the face. It does not leave your face looking or feeling greasy or tacky while also hydrating . I use it in conjunction with Cosrx snail mucin 96 essence and works amazing.

Okay it took a lot of convincing for me to get on the snail train but here we are. I love it. It feels like silk! My acne scarring on my chin is already looking less angry and my oily spots in my T-zone feel like they’re more balanced. Since I’m adding moisture to my routine my oil glands aren’t going nuts for a change. I know the science but as someone with combo skin it’s still hard to trust such rich gels and oils and things but I’m in love.

After all of the rave about snail extract, I had to find a product to try out for myself. This recovery gel goes on smooth and is not sticky. I am seeing more softness in my skin and I think the gel is starting to do the trick. My goal was to decrease the fine lines on my forehead as well as anywhere else on my face. This will definitely become a re-purchase when it runs out. LOVE IT!

I can't remember a time when I didn't have a tube of this either on my desk or on my nightstand. If texture is a deal-breaker for you, this pink tube is a good place to start. This isn't sticky or tacky, and it absorbs lightning fast. This is a go-to product for me when I screw up my skin (either by using Retin-A too many nights in a row or when I forget I used Retin-A and accidentally grab an exfoliating scrub). When my skin is angry with me, this is one of the few things it will tolerate.... Read more

I think this is a good starter product if you've wanted to try snail but are afraid it will be gross. ;) It made me a snail fan! It's a lightweight gel -- I don't know why they include "cream" in the name -- so it's not enough for my dry/combo skin in the winter, but it was great in hot, humid weather.
