Korean beauty loves fermented ingredients and for good reason: When you ferment ingredients, the particles get smaller (more than 150,000 times smaller than your pores, in fact!), which means they can better penetrate your skin and enhance the effectiveness of your skincare. That’s the reason PURITO Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence can do some amazing things for your skin. Lactobacillus/rice ferment helps to suppress the process that results in dark spots, while bifida ferment lysate improves skin’s firmness and hydration. Adenosine, the only ingredient certified for wrinkle improvement by the KFDA, helps boost cell production to improve elasticity. Formulated with 94% fermented ingredients and 3% niacinamide, this odorless, water-type boosting essence is a brightening, lightening powerhouse and can be used as a hydrating toner, in your 7-skin routine, or as an essence.

As with all Purito products, this serum is cruelty-free and 10-free of harmful ingredients, including parabens, alcohol, and artificial fragrance and dyes.

The 7-skin layering method is a go-to for K-beauty aficionados looking for a boost of hydration, whether you’re dry or oily. Of course, you don’t have to do 7 layers — read how to perfect your 7- (or 3- or 5-) skin routine here.

Deriving its name from the English word “purity” and the Chinese character for “soil” (土), PURITO wants to be open and transparent about what its customers are putting on their skin. To that end, they utilize pure and natural ingredients derived from the earth, ensuring that their ingredients are EWG Green (safe) and toxin/chemical-free whenever possible. Aware of the “green-washing” going on in the beauty industry, PURITO aims to be open and honest with its customers, providing products that are truly natural and safe, even for a child’s skin. One example is their use of purified water instead of extract water, which can sometimes irritate sensitive skin types.

PURITO also doesn’t believe that fancy packaging or expensive marketing or spokesmodels are indicative of a great skincare product, so they spend their money on the formulation and ingredients, not “appearance.” They strive to use eco-friendly packaging, they never test on animals, and they believe in making great skincare affordable so everyone can use it.

I got my mother and I a bottle of this essence when it was on sale. She has been using it since august and she likes it. I think it has imparted some glow to her skin. She uses it after her acids (the cosrx poreless liquid) and under her other products. As for me I do the same - use it after my acids or as a FTE. When used as a FTE, I usually mix it with Tiam's vitamin blending powder and the two together seem to work well, I haven't had any reaction. Overall, it is a... Read more

im low on this product. need to reorder. i use this on my body as well when i dont want lotion. on my face i use it as a toner essence step. it absorbs really well and yes.. i think the 3% niacinamide is promoting lightening of my acne scars AND helping to add a very thin moisture barrier readying for the next layer. just love this. no scent. excellent imgredients. i use with the purito vit c amd also w the sulwhasoo first step care serum.

Skin type: acne prone, dry, sensitive.
Amazing product! I've never tried an essence before, and this changed my skincare routine. Now I usually have 3-4 steps instead of 2-3 and my skin feels a lot more hydrated. I've only been using this for 3 weeks so I haven't seen any major changes in my skin, but overall my acne has reduced a bit and scarring/dark spots are healing faster than before (I have been using the vitamin c serum as well). I'll definitely order another one and I feel like I've barely made a dent - I have plenty product... Read more

I have a handful of days left in my first bottle of this. I liked it enough to get my daughter her own bottle and get her started on it. I use it as a toner layer. I love ferments and try to get some different ones on my skin each routine. This essence just sinks right in. I already have 2 bottles on standby, one for me and one for my daughter. Will definitely repurchase when those get low.

I love it, too!!

Oh my. These this product is amaze balls good. Granted this is my first real intro to fermented products but this Doesn’t disappoint. I have mature dry skin and after using this for a couple of days my skin looks radiant. Smooth. Also hydrated! I also have pigment issues. I’ll report back in a couple of weeks if this helped in that area. No hint of fragrance or color so my sensitive skin also loves it. Will definitely repurchase!

I know it says this essence contains 94% fermented ingredients...however I can't help but notice the first ingredient being butylene glycol. I'm not a skincare expert... is butylene glycol a part of the ''complex''? Any informed person care to fill me in please? :(

There's nothing wrong with butylene glycol. It's a solvent, a penetration enhancer, a humectant moisturizer, and is used for viscosity control. I'm actually happy to see it as the first ingredient in this product, since it's typical for the first ingredient in any skincare product to be plain old water, and penetration enhancement is a huge deal for me since a lot of skin-beneficial ingredients simply have molecular sizes too large to readily penetrate the skin. You can read an article about this ingredient here: https://www.thedermreview.com/butylene-glycol/

Also, please keep in mind while you're reading ingredient lists on this website... Read more

Thank you so much marikomaru for your informative reply! This answers many questions for me

Agreed with marikomaru on the butylene glycol and penetration enhancement! I want the goodies to get where they need to once I put \'em on my skin. And better than just plain old water. The rest is also way too true.

palmereldritch890 I do think that sometimes skin care products say things about percentages that are legally but not actually true, from all countries - like, they include other ingredients in the mix, then say it is 94% or whatever of the \'complex\', basically of the mixture rather than the pure ingredient. And the difference... Read more
