This prestige beauty brand, focused on hanbang ingredients indigenous to Korea, is as highly respected in its native land as it is abroad. Proof? Locals say its Ginseng Cream is something you’d gift to a potential mother-in-law. In its earliest iteration, that ginseng cream was what launched Sulwhasoo over 50 years ago. While helping his mother’s camellia oil business, Sulwhasoo founder Suh Sung-whan came to appreciate the power of traditional Korean herbs. Working with Kyunghee University of Oriental Medicine to blend traditional Korean medicinal herbs and methods with science-backed research, Suh founded the company that would become Sulwhasoo in 1966. All of Sulwhasoo’s ingredients are meticulously cultivated in AmorePacific’s herb farm, from the saponin-rich ginseng to white lily to East Indian lotus. Its signature formula of jaumdan, which consists of five potent herbs, targets the body’s Yin energy to fight dryness, dark spots, and inflammation. In 2004, Sulwhasoo became a best seller in Hong Kong, and in 2010, the prestige skincare line made its North American debut at Bergdorf Goodman.

Finally finished my other serum and can review this. I was a little worried because other ppl said it was super sticky and felt like glue on their faces. It feels like that when I test it on my arm without other products, but for some reason on my face it doesn’t at all (I do use snail goo and what can be stickier than that...). I am using it with the bloomstay water so maybe that helps balance the stickiness and I use it after all my other products before my cream because it feels like... Read more

I bought this a while ago and finally getting around to trying it. Do people suggest using it during the day or night or doesn’t it matter? Somewhere I heard it has a slight shimmer? Or did I make that up...

Oh my goodness! The serum is on sale!! I saw some good reviews on this on Youtube from some Korean v-bloggers but am wondering if anyone else has tried it? I'm trying to decide between this and the Bloomtay moisturizer? Which is a better product?

I would recommend getting the cream! I bought samples of both and found the texture of the serum to be gooey and it left my skin feeling sticky afterwards. The cream sinks in surprisingly well on the other hand! Both have the same beautiful floral scent but I would think that the cream has a stronger scent than the serum.

Hi palliechen! I did! :) I ordered the moisturizer when it's on sale and it arrives this week! Doing happy dance! Thanks for the recommendation!
