What is Balancing Water? It’s exactly what your skin needs for immediate hydration and complete restoration. Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Water EX is unlike your typical toner; it has an elegant gel texture that spreads evenly over your skin, leaving it soft and moisturized. Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Water EX contains Matrimony Vine, Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract, and Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, three of the most extraordinarily powerful antioxidants and plant extracts.

This anti-aging toner is fast-absorbing and leaves your skin luxuriously hydrated. Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Water EX resets the skin to its optimal pH balance, making this an excellent choice for the first step of your skincare routine. The sumptuous texture and exquisite formulation makes this toner not just an effective product, but a must-try experience.

Sulwhasoo is a coveted brand with a stellar reputation in the skincare world and this toner has earned its place as a favorite among Sulwhasoo’s other classic products.

This toner is suited for both dry and oily skin as the hydration is effective yet light!

“One of the product types I think Asian beauty does very well is the hydrating toner. Meant to deeply hydrate and soften skin after cleansing, preparing it to better absorb subsequent layers of product, hydrating toners are thicker than the astringent toners many of us are accustomed to, fattened up with humectants and slip agents. Sulwhasoo’s Essential Balancing Water EX, which I received as part of the Concentrated Ginseng Trial Set sent by the brand, is a prime example.

My face drank up every drop of this ultra-smooth but non-sticky elixir and asked for more. I went through the little travel size far too fast. In addition to performing the expected hydrating/plumping/softening functions, the Essential Balancing Water EX also had a strong calming effect for me. It reduced redness noticeably.”

This prestige beauty brand, focused on hanbang ingredients indigenous to Korea, is as highly respected in its native land as it is abroad. Proof? Locals say its Ginseng Cream is something you’d gift to a potential mother-in-law. In its earliest iteration, that ginseng cream was what launched Sulwhasoo over 50 years ago. While helping his mother’s camellia oil business, Sulwhasoo founder Suh Sung-whan came to appreciate the power of traditional Korean herbs. Working with Kyunghee University of Oriental Medicine to blend traditional Korean medicinal herbs and methods with science-backed research, Suh founded the company that would become Sulwhasoo in 1966. All of Sulwhasoo’s ingredients are meticulously cultivated in AmorePacific’s herb farm, from the saponin-rich ginseng to white lily to East Indian lotus. Its signature formula of jaumdan, which consists of five potent herbs, targets the body’s Yin energy to fight dryness, dark spots, and inflammation. In 2004, Sulwhasoo became a best seller in Hong Kong, and in 2010, the prestige skincare line made its North American debut at Bergdorf Goodman.

My wallet wishes my skin doesn't love Sulwhasoo products as much as it does. After years of dealing with skin issues (dry, flaky, acne, you name it), my skin showed a marked improvement trying out a trial kit from Sulwhasoo. Skin tone and elasticity improved. My skin is much more hydrated, less oily and acne prone.

I love the scent of the balancing water and it is a nice texture that sinks in well. I wish it came in a pump style bottle as I'm always afraid I'll drop the bottle.

If this were not like 44 cents per milliliter I would apply from the roots of my hair to the tips of my toes! I love it! I haven't been using this very long but it is impressive. I have avoided the sulwhasoo line for quite a while because of the alcohol content. I seriously do not want to break my face again! Ever! But, since I have it fixed now , decided to give it a go. I know alcohol is like second on the ingredient list (didn't check-that may be inaccurate) but, it has not... Read more

I really like the light floral/herbal scent of this toner, which gets me all excited without being overpowering on my nose. The texture seems a bit thick straight out of the bottle, but since you're supposed to rub it between your palms before application (found out yesterday from the store assistant), the texture becomes watery and is easy to apply. It gets absorbed very quickly, and preps the skin well for the next step in skincare.

For my combi-oily skin, a layer is enough (no need for the 7 skin method), and I can see the difference in my skin... Read more

This is a great toner with a light, watery serum texture. It's definitely more viscous than most toners on the market but at the same time it's lightweight and sinks in quickly. Has a light, pleasant scent and is quite hydrating. I finished the bottle and enjoyed very drop of it. I noticed that this has a high alcohol content (second ingredient) but my skin doesn't react to it. I would be more cautious if you do have sensitive skin and tend to avoid products with a lot of alcohol.
