About the product

What Is It:

Maximize brightness and get skin as pristine as freshly fallen snow. Sulwhasoo’s Snowise EX Brightening Water is the first step you might not know you need, but will soon discover you can’t live without!
The Sulwhasoo Snowise EX Brightening Water is a gel-textured water that directly delivers plump hydration, and in turn, primes your skin for the rest of your routine and the products that will follow.
This formula follows Sulwhasoo’s timeless-meets-cutting edge philosophy and boasts rare white ginseng polysaccharides that help to achieve a clearer and more refreshed-looking complexion. The water also features mulberry root extract which gently and naturally exfoliates, as well as a wealth of 14 carefully selected botanical extracts with incredibly moisturizing and antioxidant properties. Sulwhasoo’s Snowise EX Brightening Water dries down quickly, leaving behind no trace of tackiness or stickiness; yet it prepares your skin to better grip and absorb the products you’ve carefully curated for your own personal routine.
This infusion of pure hydration and its unique gel-water texture locks a perfect dewiness into your skin, resulting in both dramatically increased moisture levels—creating the perfect primer for following brightening treatments. This allows ensuing treatments to better absorb and increases efficacy, making this a perfect booster for your favorite skin treatments.

Brand info:

This prestige beauty brand, focused on hanbang ingredients indigenous to Korea, is as highly respected in its native land as it is abroad. Proof? Locals say its Ginseng Cream is something you’d gift to a potential mother-in-law. In its earliest iteration, that ginseng cream was what launched Sulwhasoo over 50 years ago. While helping his mother’s camellia oil business, Sulwhasoo founder Suh Sung-whan came to appreciate the power of traditional Korean herbs. Working with Kyunghee University of Oriental Medicine to blend traditional Korean medicinal herbs and methods with science-backed research, Suh founded the company that would become Sulwhasoo in 1966. All of Sulwhasoo’s ingredients are meticulously cultivated in AmorePacific’s herb farm, from the saponin-rich ginseng to white lily to East Indian lotus. Its signature formula of jaumdan, which consists of five potent herbs, targets the body’s Yin energy to fight dryness, dark spots, and inflammation. In 2004, Sulwhasoo became a best seller in Hong Kong, and in 2010, the prestige skincare line made its North American debut at Bergdorf Goodman.

This is a lovely hydrating toner. The texture is thicker than most toners, but not as much as the Ginseng water (which is almost a gel). It feels refreshing and sinks in immediately. The scent is also refreshing - similar to the cleanser but more citrusy. I prefer the herbal goodness of the Ginseng Water scent though. Both are different enough for me to justify having both on rotation.
