TRUE (true) + ENZYME (enzymes) = TRUEZYME

Like the ribozyme, an RNA enzyme that is a catalyst for change, Truezyme marries traditional Korean fermentation techniques, hanbang ingredients like Korean angelica root, and the natural resources of South Korea’s pristine Jeju Island (including camellia and green tea) to create a line that cares for your entire family’s skin, scalp, and hair in the gentlest manner possible but with the most effective methods. Truezyme believes that to truly effect change in your skin, scalp, and hair, you can’t just use a tiny amount of an ingredient. To that end, they ensure that each product contains at least 30-90% of an undiluted formula of active ingredients that are EWG rated green (safe). Created without harsh chemicals and potentially toxic ingredients, Truezyme is safe for everyone, including babies, pregnant women, those with sensitive skin.

Truezyme is committed to the Earth’s health and longevity. To that end, they exclude petroleum-based surfactants used in conventional shampoos that are known to be toxic to the ecosystem. All Truezyme products exclude petroleum-based surfactants and petroleum-based chemicals, which are the main causes of water pollution.

This shampoo is amazing. I was so skeptical at first — how good can it be to warrant the price! — but seriously, this is more of a scalp treatment-slash-shampoo. I mean, based on the ingredients, this could be a face serum! My scalp has never felt so healthy, and it does an amazing job of giving my hair "life" without weighing it down or stripping it. The application is a bit unusual though — DON'T pour it into your hands first. Apply it directly to your scalp because it's as runny as water. I apply a few drops each... Read more

I was also surprised by the price so that is good to know! How often are you supposed to use this? Do you alternate between this and a regular shampoo?

I use it every few days. @ruthkim uses it I think once a week? I got it in April and I just ran out, so it lasted me a good 3 months. I think it helps that it's mostly for the scalp, so it's not like I feel like I need to coat my strands with it.

Does it suds up much at all?

It depends! If you use it every few days not too much sudsing up. I’ll add a bit more if I feel I need it to foam up a bit more. But as with my low ph face wash I’ve come to expect that lots of foam does not necessary equal cleanliness

If it's not too much to ask this , how long did your first bottle last ?

It lasted me about 3 months, and I used it every few days. My co-worker used it about once a week. Because it's for the scalp, I didn't feel the need to coat my strands with it. I focused on my scalp and let the residual foam/shampoo do the cleaning on my strands.

OOOOH! I am in the market for a good low pH treatment for my scalp and have been eyeing this but hadn't seen anyone comment on it yet. Yet another product getting added to make cart here. #beautytapgetsallmymoney

And that multi tonic for the hair by Truezyme (that's a dailytap today) — I spritzed it on my scalp in lieu of dry shampoo one day (I hate dry shampoo) and omg, it was like a toner and facial mist for my scalp. My scalp felt so healthy and refreshed without that nasty dry shampoo residue that makes me feel like I just piled on powder on top of a super oily T-zone (cake city ew).
