Don’t get the same ol’ pen set or gift card. Be original! Spread the Korean beauty love and put together a K-beauty gift basket for any occasion, all for under $150. We show you how.

It's always stressful trying to come up with gifts for special occasions. You want to express to the recipient how proud of them you are, how much you love them, or truly celebrate a milestone in their life. How do you properly do that? It seems like everyone either gets the same lame thing or you have no idea what to get the recipient.

Building the perfect gift might seem impossible, but don't worry, I've got you! Today I have some ideas for you that will add some special flair to the occasion, and more importantly, give your special person a gift that's as unique as they are.

Baby Showers

Ikea Fladis Basket, $12.99

This is the perfect little basket to store diapers in once it's done housing your gift! I have several of these in my home that I use for both diapers and toys.

SanDaWha 3 Piece Baby Set, $90

There's nothing I would rather have for my own baby. This SanDaWha set comes with a lotion, cream, and foam baby wash that's chock full of natural skin loving ingredients

Not Sew Strange Modern B&W Organic Cotton Little Leòn stuffed toy, $18.17

My son has several pieces from this (local to me) artist. What I love about them is not only how modern and cute they are, but how it's made from organic cotton and most importantly machine washable (!!), which trust me, every mother will appreciate

IEVE B&W Swiss Cross Newborn Throw Blanket Unisex, $22

This ultra soft blankey has the perfect gender neutral pattern, so boy or girl it's going to work just fine. It also makes for an attractive filler for the basket to put the other gifts on top of. There's no waste when presenting a basket like this!

TOTAL: $143.16

Graduations

Baggu Standard Dragon Tree, $10

Graduating from high school or university, moving out, and starting a whole new grownup life: There’s a lot to think about when you’re “look at me adulting like an adult.” One of the many little things that might fall through the cracks is a reusable shopping bag. Many stores these days require that you use one. This one is not only big and tough, it's gorgeous. It also folds up into a little square so toting it around is easy. It also doubles as a great delivery system for your gift, not just future groceries.

Fifty Shades of Snail Light & Bright Box $49 ($72 value)

I absolutely adore Jude's pick for her collaboration box with Beautytap! Every single product is a winner, not to mention an excellent value. These products will work for anyone and range from pampering to protecting. Read all about it here, (link) and after your done, pick one up for yourself, too.

Recipes Every College Student Should Know, $9.95

When I moved out I didn't know a damn thing about cooking. It took me way too long to learn how, and I wasted countless dollars ordering takeout food. I wish someone had presented me a book like this when I was just starting out!

Korean Beauty Secrets: A Practical Guide to Cutting-Edge Skincare & Makeup, $14.36

Full disclosure, I co-authored this, but self-promotion aside, it's truly an excellent resource for someone just figuring out how to take care of their skin and themselves. It has full ingredient breakdowns, sample routines, and fun makeup looks. Basically, we wrote the book we wish we had read when we were starting out. Plus, it looks damn good on a shelf, if I don't say so myself, haha.

TOTAL: $83.31

Birthdays

Ikea Pudda basket, $8.99

I really like the look of this grey felt storage box with gold snaps. It's also a great size for storing makeup palettes on your dresser.

CB2 Marie Coupe Smoke Grey Cocktail Glass, $4.95 x 2 (with sparkling lemonade and soju)

The coupe glass is the trendiest shape for cocktail and champagne these days and I love CB2's smoky version. Grab your friend two so you can share a cute li’l cocktail while you kiki. To make said cute cocktail is simple: Add a splash of soju to some of your favorite sparkling pink lemonade. It's fuzzy, fun, and sweet, just like your friendship.

Romand Multi Duo Blush Pink Crush, $26

This pinky pigmented blush looks good on everybody, and the packaging is to die for. Who wouldn't be thrilled to receive this treat on their b’day? If you want a gift that you're definitely going to see on their IG feed later, pop this in their basket.

Su:m37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick, $26

It's a classic cult favorite for a reason. This ultra luxurious cushy stick cleanser smells like a rose garden and leaves your skin soft and clean. It's the proper pH, it's good for just about any skin, and it's highly portable. Best of all, it includes real rose petals inside so help your bestie live her best princess life by gifting her this!

SanDaWha Camellia Flower Hydrating Mist, $16

A mist is something that one might not be inclined to buy for themselves but will be kicking themselves for not doing it sooner once they are gifted one. This mist is full of excellent skin beneficial ingredients that both hydrate and treat the skin. Show your friend how special she is with this pampering product.

TOTAL: $86.89

Have you ever put together a K-beauty gift basket? What would you put in your gift basket?
