I don’t know about y’all, but more money is something I am always in need of.

So really, there’s no better way to celebrate the year of the pig than by treating yourself to some limited edition skincare and beauty products. J-beauty juggernaut SK-II always releases a stunning, limited edition version of their world famous Facial Treatment Essence each Lunar New Year. If you’re unfamiliar, the famous SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is the brand’s signature product, made with over 90% pitera, a very potent ferment that makes your skin look and feel like silk. (Trust me, I’ve tried it and if I were rich, I’d bathe in it). The limited edition bottle is a bright, bold red, with playful swirls that write out the Chinese word for spring. It’s totally Insta-worthy.

Missha goes pink

Missha’s Lunar New Year collection is a departure from the brand’s normally simple yet elegant packaging. Think more Etude House — you know, shades of bright pink and an adorable cartoon pig. The line features limited edition liquid lip tints in bold, bright red shades; a hand cream, a body cream; multi-tasking compacts with eyeshadow, highlight, and blush that’s perfect for throwing in your purse; and a super cute set that contains a pink piggy bank (remember, the year of the pig is about the $$ bills, y’all), a multi-tasking compact, a hand cream, and a body cream in a powdery, floral scent with hints of sandalwood.

If one of your New Year’s resolutions was to stop spending so much money on skincare, but you reaaaaaaallllllly want something that’s limited edition, the Tony Moly 2019 New Year Gold Mask is right up your alley. The adorable packaging (a chubby gold pig, I die!) could double for a house decoration, and the mask itself is packed with good-for-your-skin ingredients, like squalane, honey extract, and of course, pure gold extract. What would Lunar New Year be without a bit of gold, right?!

Primp with Piglet

Etude House’s Lunar New Year Collection is just as adorable as you’d expect. How adorable? Well, it’s all about Piglet from Winnie-the-Pooh (aka my favorite character). Piglet is featured all over blush compacts, cushion compacts, liquid mousse lipsticks, eyeshadows, makeup brushes, and the CUTEST Piglet emblazoned sponge puff. Laniege and Hera are two K-beauty brands that really pulled out all the stops for their 2019 collections. Each brand really went with the ultra glam theme: Think bold, red lipsticks packaged in the most vibrant red and gold bullets. Hera has a limited edition Golden Pig cushion compact featuring a tiny gold pig on the front, while Laneige packaged its Perfect Renew Regenerating serum in the most gorgeous red bottle. It legit looks like something a royal family member would have on their vanity. It’s glamX3!

International bae

Lunar New Year is such a big deal that tons of non-Asian brands like to also release limited edition products. Case in point: the limited edition rose body oil from the Australian brand Jurlique. I am utterly obsessed with roses AND once you add in the fact that it’s limited edition, just take my money, OK! This body oil is made with rose oil, macadamia oil, safflower, jojoba and lots of other gorgeous plant extracts. Slather it on after a long, hot bath to feel like an ultra powerful goddess. MOOD.

If makeup if your thing, you’ll be pleased to know that the packaging for M.A.C’s limited edition Lunar New Year collection is absolutely, mind-blowing-ly amazing. The 2019 Lucky Red collection features five of the brand’s most iconic red lipsticks, packaged in the most luxurious red laser-engraved bullet. It’s one of those things that you just “casually” pull out to touch up your lipstick after a coffee date, but really, you’re just showing it off because the world needs to know just how amazing you are. There’s also a gorgeous blush duo compact with a matching brush, perfect for placing right on your vanity.
