Avon Just Launched a New Collab with The Face Shop & It’s Everything
Yes, Avon x The Face Shop is here. What that means for us is K-beauty, but with way more shades.
Imagine my surprise when I was doing my daily beauty news crawl and I saw a dark brown cushion compact in my feed.
But it wasn’t from Sephora, Ulta, or even a department store. It was from Avon, and not only Avon but Avon’s partnership with K-beauty darling The Face Shop. What a truly iconic combination!
So, let’s back up for a bit of history. Avon was actually acquired by LG, one of Korea’s largest beauty conglomerates. Now that Avon is under the LG umbrella, they are actually going to do a bunch of cross partnerships with a number of LG brands, the first being The Face Shop. Basically, Avon is now going to harness all of the Korean research and development and high-quality ingredients while including an expanded shade range for a number of their makeup products.
The current lineup of Avon x The Face Shop products includes both skincare and makeup — well, The Face Shop’s most popular skincare and makeup products. There’s the iconic Rice Water face wipes (literally the only face wipes I like) and the coordinating Rice Water Bright foaming cleanser, formulated with skin-protecting ceramides and vitamins A, E, and B.
Also, there are two products from The Face Shop’s sister brand, Dr. Belmeur: the Advanced Cica Recovery Cream and the Advanced Cica Hydro cream. Both of these products use the power of my favorite ingredient (cica, aka centella) to strengthen and protect your moisture barrier while delivering a hefty dose of hydration.
The makeup collection is where the Avon x The Face Shop collaboration really shines. Remember when I said that there was a dark cushion? Well, there’s actually 18 shades, probably the most I’ve ever seen from a Korean company, so we truly do love to see it. It’s formulated with skin-brightening niacinamide and is incredibly silky and lightweight. The cushions deliver a natural, matte finish and medium to full coverage.
Oh, and there’s also the Moisture Cushion blush in Red, Coral, and Pink, as well as a sparkly cushion highlighter that has a unique blend of vitamin E, rosehip oils, and passion flower for a more natural glow. If you’re not a cushion girl, there’s also the Ink Lasting liquid foundation.
Looking for lip products? THERE ARE TONS. There’s the Ink Tint Tattoo Matte liquid lipstick and the coordinating Flat Velvet lipstick, all available in a wide variety of tones.
I’m looking forward to seeing what Avon’s next LG collaboration should be. What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
