These Trending Face Creams Will Keep Your Moisture Barrier Intact All Winter

A face cream is a face cream is a face cream, right? Not when you’re talking about these new must-haves and cult classics. The top face creams that’ll keep your skin flake-free through spring.

After battling 90 degree weather in Atlanta for the first half of October, it seems that Mother Nature has gotten her life together and decided to give us fall. So you know what that means? Bye bye humidity, hello dry air. Bye hot weather, heyyyyy cold, chilly nights and mornings. My skin is already freaking out, but you know I always have the solutions.

I’ve been testing out a number of creams for cold weather, and let me tell you, I got the GOODS. But first, let me explain why we need to change up our moisturizer. During the fall and winter, the air is noticeably more dry, which means that humidity that normally gives our skin an extra bit of hydration is gone and that = dry, flaky skin. I’ve already seen it around my nose! And then couple that with the fact that you’ve probably started turning on the heater in your home and/or office, and that equals more dry air, too. We’re trying to make sure our moisture barriers stay intact, honey! So let’s check out my picks for top face creams!

Earth’s Recipe Moisture Bound Cream

Linda, honey listen. This cream is the TRUTH. If you want to glow like you do infrared saunas and drink spinach smoothies all day, you’re gonna want this. It’s got all the skincare super ingredients — ceramides to nourish and protect the skin, peptides to enhance your complexion, Centella asiatica to heal the skin, and licorice root for that bright glow. AND there’s also hyaluronic acid for hydration. Like girl. We stan.

All of these ingredients combine to create a luxurious, silky cream that just sinks into your skin. And trust, the glow is real with this one. When I use it at night, there’s a very visible difference in the morning. And it wears well under makeup, too. A legendary cream.

Innisfree Derma Formula Green Tea Probiotics Cream

Innisfree has never, ever steered me wrong, and this cream is just another example of a simple product that just works. I’d choose this cream if I was going to be outside battling the elements. Why? Well, because it’s a cream that’s designed to hydrate and moisturize for up to 48 hours as well as battle air pollution and weather changes. You know those days when you wake up and it’s 40 degrees and by the afternoon it’s 75? Yeah, this is the cream you’re gonna want in your stash.

Innisfree Orchid Intense Cream

Yes, another Innisfree pick because Innisfree is that girl. When I lived in Korea, I bought at least four of these creams during the winter. It is SO rich and luxurious, it feels like it should cost you $200, but it’s affordable AF. It has Innisfree’s patented Orchid Elixir, a rich blend of high-powered antioxidants that protect your skin against free radical damage (aka, no aging over here, folks!). Its super rich texture forms a lush layer of protection over your skin — and bonus points, it wears beautifully under makeup. Win!

Banila Co Miss Flower and Mr. Honey Cream

Yassss Miss Flower and Mr. Honey cream is back, baby! After a scary few months where we all thought this cream was going to be placed in the graveyard of K-beauty favorites gone-too-soon, Banila Co blessed us and brought it back. We stan a gracious beauty company.

Why is this cream such a cult favorite? It’s made from a whopping 48% black fermented honey water, which reduces your skin’s stress (aka cold weather) while providing a nourishing barrier thanks to the unique Yellow Flower complex. Oh, and it’s also chock full of oils like olive, argan, and African walnut butter, so it has a silky feel and gives you that super mega watt glow. I love this cream like a sister. Truly.

Honestly I've been curious about the Miss Flower and Mr. Honey cream for so long, but I'm scared about it being too rich for my oily skin!

I am excited about that new green tea cream from Innisfree though~ My skin alllways loves green tea!

The Banila Co. Cream is a winter staple for my dry skin, but I can't use it once the weather warms up. It would probably overwhelm your skin.

I think I have a sample of that Innisfree orchid cream. I'll have to pull it out to give a try now that it's getting colder!
