Your Favorite Beauty Brands Are Celebrating And Supporting Pride Month And Here’s How You Can Too
The Summer has officially begun and so has the kick-off to the global celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride.
Covid-19 and social distancing may have dominated headlines for most of the year, but June 2020 marks a milestone in LGBTQ+ history that must be celebrated – the 50th anniversary of the first Pride march in New York City one year after the Stonewall Uprising changed LGBTQ+ activism in the U.S.
Beauty brands are united in support of the LGBTQ+ community, from Pride-themed packaging to monetary donations for organizations that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. You can join in on the celebration, whatever skin you are in.
Here, five brands with limited-edition offerings in support of Pride.
Herbivore Prism Glow
Get that coveted Prism Glow from HERBIVORE. Shine a light on your skin with the New Limited Edition PRISM PRIDE KIT featuring the exfoliating Prism collection favorites (Glow Facial and Glow Serum) in an alluring pink-hued pouch. This dynamic duo will naturally transform your skin from dull to radiant in less than 15 minutes. 100% of the profits will be donated to the Trevor Project and the Trans Women of Color Collective during the month of June.
Harry’s Shave With Pride Set
No matter what part of your body needs a shave, do it in style with Harry’s limited-edition, José Roda designed box set. Each razor has its own unique iridescent handle and the set comes with a foaming shave gel and cover perfect for travel. 100% of the profits are donated to The Trevor Project.
Lord Jones CBD Pride Gumdrops
This beautifully appointed Lord Jones box contains a rainbow of nine gumdrops in sultry, summery flavors (to “savor slowly”): juicy melon, mouth-watering pineapple and sweet raspberry. Each gumdrop contains 20mg of brand-spectrum CBD, sourced from select hemp cultivated in the USA. 50% of the profits from each box will be donated to West Hollywood-based LA Pride to support their efforts with PLATform - a policy, leadership and advocacy training program to support and educate the transgender and non-binary communities on how to engage in activism and policy reform. The Lord Jones donations are in support of people of color within the community.
Bliss Pride Makeup Remover Wipes
After a day of celebrating, take it all off with these new Bliss wipes infused with a hydrating blend of skin soothers such as German Chamomile, Marshmallow Root, Cucumber Fruit Extract, and Aloe. Cruelty-free and “Blissfully” free of parabens, phthalates and sodium lauryl sulfates, wipe away the makeup but not the charitable giving. 100% of the net proceeds up to $40,000 from the complete collection of Makeup Melt Wipes will be donated to The Trevor Project and the LGBTQ+ community.
2019 marked the 9th year that Kiehl’s Since 1851 was an official sponsor of NYC Pride and the company’s 17th year proudly walking in the March. Though they are unable to march together this year due to COVID-19, Kiehl’s is remaining committed to serving the LGBTQ+ Youth community by partnering with The Trevor Project to promote inclusion and support physical and mental health for all young people by making $100,000 donation.
Kiehl's has also made a loud and proud statement on the front page of its website: "At Kiehl’s, we stand for Healthy Skin for All. We encourage inclusivity and celebrate diversity amongst their customers, community and employees. We believe in embracing who we are as individuals-regardless of gender, race, religion or who we choose to love.” By simply purchasing Kiehl’s products, you are supporting a brand committed to spreading kindness and inclusivity.
