Transform Dry, Frizzy Hair With A Nourishing Leave-In Hair Oil

If you’ve been struggling with lifeless, damaged hair, it’s time to call in the help of a leave-in hair oil.

The new year is almost here! Let’s kick off 2021 with good health and a return to normalcy (along with smooth, shiny hair while we’re at it).  Yes, hair oils are essential multi-taskers worth incorporating into any beauty routine. Use them on all hair types (from flat to frizzy) as a moisturizing boost, shine enhancer or as a style refresher.

Let’s kick off 2021 with good health and a return to normalcy along with smooth, shiny hair.

Always start with a pea-sized amount (less is more), and begin at the ends of damp or dry hair while working your way up the hair shaft. When used properly, these oils won’t weigh hair down. A drop or two worked into the ends and through the strands will also help revive any day (or two or three…) old style.

And, don’t forget to rub any remaining oil into your hands, cuticles and elbows for an added dose of body moisture.

It’s rare to see prickly pear oil starring in a beauty product, but this winner definitely isn’t your everyday product. Prickly pear oil is a wondrous ingredient, comes from a cactus in the Middle East and has a high concentration of antioxidants, moisturizers and repairing agents — leaving your hair feeling shiny, smooth and moisturized. It’s also free of silicones, tames frizz and helps make your hair stronger, thanks to plant ceramides. The scent is strong and powdery, and wears off as your hair dries.

So many winners on this list. I can attest to Christophe Robin, Oribe and Olaplex. They all work great on my thick hair. My hair tends to get puffy and these oils tame it perfectly. Also love to use them as a style refresher. I can't wait to try the others. Have been a fan of Davines and very curious about Joon!

It is always so hard to find hair oils that melt into the hair and not leave your hair greasy. Great ones on the list I love for their silkyness is the Grow Gorgeous & Olaplex.

The Grow Gorgeous is CRAZY concentrated. My bottle is going to last me all year because, even with long hair (mid-back) I can only use one or two drops at most. Amazing bargain!

Back when I was a young girl with Rapunzel-like, thick, curly hair the "tamer" my mom used was Alberto-VO5 in a tube. Nowadays, my hair is not so abundant or long, but using oils, has provided sheen, flyaway management, and a silky texture. Love the multi-use products especially, and will be adding one to my routine.

Oh my gosh, Alberto - VO5 - blast from the past! I remember loving Flex shampoo too. That scent was so fresh!

It's so easy for men to think they don't need hair treatments. Remember healthy scalp and hair will keep it longer too. Unhealthy scalp leads to baldness faster.

As a long-haired cat with fine, bleached hair, oils are an integral part of my routine year-round. I've been using the Grow Gorgeous Repair leave-in oil since the summer and have barely made a dent in the bottle. You seriously only need a few drops. The JOON Saffron Hair Elixir sounds like a good option for me since I experience occasional breakage due to highlighting. Olaplex owns my heart and the top of my shower shelf. Thanks for a great list of options. I'll be sharing this with a few friends who are actively seeking hair oils for dry winter... Read more

My hair has never looked and felt so good since using the Christophe Robin Prickly Pear Mask. Their Prickly Pear oil would be the icing on the cake! I hope that product will be available on Beautytap soon. I am always looking for a good oil treatment that also protects my color treated hair from the south Florida heat and sun. Coconut oil has always been my go to, but after reading this article, I am definitely going to start getting a little more adventurous and try a few of these suggestions.

Living in Florida and having super frizzy and curly hair, this article is a LIFE SAVOR! Ordering some hair oils for the New Year :)
