For Briana Hernandez, Beautytap kept the “beauty momentum and education alive during the pandemic.” Learn how you can benefit from the Beauty Expert Program, too.

Briana E. Hernández has been a licensed and active Cosmetologist since February 2001 and joined the Beauty Expert Program in early 2020 when the coronavirus epidemic first began. She specializes in both hair and makeup artistry as well as ear piercing.

Throughout her career, Briana has had several rewarding and unforgettable experiences, from owning a private salon to continuously traveling and providing international education for two worldwide product brands – SexyHair and Studex.

Briana E. Hernandez is a member of Beautytap’s Beauty Expert community and a licensed and active Cosmetologist.

Briana has worked behind the chair with brides, models, VIPs, and celebrities on everything from advertising campaigns, photo shoots, editorials, and magazines as well as on-set, in hair shows, and at fashion shows like NYFW.

Briana says, “No day is alike, and I believe this truly helps keep my passion for the beauty industry alive and exciting.” Recently, Briana shared her beauty industry experience with us and discussed why a supportive platform like the Beauty Expert Program is where magic happens.

Beautytap: How did you get your start in the world of beauty?

Briana Hernández: One of my first jobs in high school was as a receptionist at a hair salon. I loved the world of beauty instantly and knew I could have clients walking out looking and feeling even better than what I was witnessing at the time. I often caught myself imagining what I’d do differently on their haircuts and styles and just knew I’d be successful at it.

B: What type of education did you receive?

BH: While working as the salon receptionist, I was offered a manager position but had to be licensed in order to accept it. I went on to study and complete Cosmetology school then received my license in 2001. I was so lucky to not only receive education while at school but also every day at the shop during breaks or before or after my shifts from my seasoned stylist coworkers.

B: What is your current beauty industry role?

BH: I own a private salon in La Jolla, California called LevelUp Artistry and specialize in hair, makeup, and ear piercing services. I’m also an industry educator and provide education both nationally and internationally for SexyHair and Studex.

For SexyHair, I attend twice-yearly update conferences to learn the most on-trend spring and fall collections then go out into the field and teach those trends to other professionals at events, salons, distributing suppliers, or online.

For Studex, I train and certify professionals in ear piercing both in person and online, so they can offer this quick and easy service to their clients.

B: How do you describe Beautytap to other people?

BH: Beautytap is a fun and educational platform where you learn about different beauty brands and products from all over the world and are able to try them out for yourself.

B: How did you find out about Beautytap?

BH: I was looking to keep the beauty momentum and education alive during the pandemic. I was so blessed to discover Beautytap’s online ad and have been happy to be a member of the community ever since.

B: What do you think of the Beautytap Expert Review Program?

BH: I absolutely love it and am so thrilled to be part of such a great beauty community.

B: What aspects of the program do you enjoy most?

BH: I’m an education junkie, so anytime I get to learn about a new beauty brand or product, I’m ecstatic. The fact that I get to try and honestly review so many great products at no cost is icing on the cake.

B: How can beauty professionals use Beautytap in their own professional growth?

BH: Aside from all the knowledge and education you will receive on new technologies, ingredients, product offerings, and brands, it’s a wonderful way to enhance your digital footprint and truly showcase your expertise as a beauty pro.

B: Do you have any advice for other experts about Beautytap or the Expert Program?

BH: Seek out platforms and communities that want to invest in you, help you grow, support you, and watch you shine all while cheering you on. When you find said communities, hang on to them and return the same energy they provide. That’s when the magic happens! I am proud to be partnered with Beautytap as they are exactly that for me.
