Oscars 2025: The Best Beauty Trends, Beloved Products, and Expert Tips

The 97th annual Academy Awards were gracious and authentic, with beauty looks to match. As Hollywood’s biggest night honored a year of creative genius, the movie making community applauded each other and the extraordinary art of film.

“For almost a century, we have paused every spring to elevate and celebrate an art form that has the power at its very best to unite us,” said host Conan O’Brien. “The magic, the madness, the grandeur and the joy of film worldwide is going to be with us forever.”

And so will the memories of stunning red carpet styles. Natural beauty was in focus, highlighted by soft makeup, radiant complexions, splendid hair, and genuine joy. From seasoned luminaries to surprise newcomers, celebrities were prepped by industry maestros and cherished products. We are sharing the top choices and pro techniques.

Sumptuous Skincare

Fresh-faced charm was aglow with dewy, plumped, vibrant skin. Proper prep is the foundation for any beauty aesthetic and these A-listers were scintillating.

Mikey Madison, Best Actress winner for Anora, accepted her award with sparkle and grace. “I want to recognize the thoughtful, intelligent, beautiful, breathtaking work of my fellow nominees. I’m honored to be recognized alongside all of you. This is a dream come true, I’m probably going to wake up tomorrow,” Madison shared in her Oscars speech.

Mikey Madison, Elle Fanning, and Lupita Nyong’o wore refined updos. Pixies were posh on Doja Cat, Emma Stone, Anok Yai, and Isabella Rossellini (with her first-ever Academy Award nomination). Forever regal on the red carpet, Michelle Yeoh’s polished bun showed off her glorious face. Emma Stone’s starlet pixie was perfected by Mara Roszak (who also styled Zoe Saldaña’s bouncy curls). Stone’s rich nutmeg hue glistened with dimension, courtesy of celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham and Schwarzkopf Professional’s Demi-Permanent Color Line, Igora Vibrance.

Sensationally sculptural, Margaret Qualley’s updo was colored by Cunningham in a velvety high-shine brunette by Schwarzkopf Professional. The hydrating formula is infused with B vitamins and free of alcohol and ammonia to encourage healthy, happy hair.

Sydney Sweeney. Hairstylist Jacob Schwartz blended several shades of highlights and lowlights to create depth, texture, and suede-like smoothness.

A good dry shampoo is a perennial savior. Celebrity hair stylist Rikke Gajda chose Hairtamin's Peptide Dry Shampoo to touch-up Camila Cabello with volume and weightless appeal.

Funny girl Amy Poehler worked with celebrity hair stylist Kylee Heath for a classy, effortless look. Heath used a toolkit of born in Australia BondiBoost (Thickening Spray, Heat Protect Spray, Everlast Airstyler, and Root Boost), paired with pinned curls, for a very doable do.

Celebrity hairstylist Laura Polko used her own signature haircare collection to prep Brazilian stunner Alessandra Ambrosio’s angelic mane. She used Ultimate Moisture Leave-In Conditioner to hydrate and tame flyaways. After a blowout, hair was set with velcro rollers, followed by a one-inch curling iron for bountiful verve. Suave Makeup

Barely there makeup and lustrous allure triumphed. Nude lips, glittery eyes, winged liners, and sensuous colors added pizazz.

Celebrating her first nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category, Ariana Grande magically displayed her own r.e.m. beauty collection with Eclipse Blush + Lipstick in Matinee, Wicked Ozdust eyeshadow palette, and Plumping Lip Gloss in shade pink Razor and Chuckie.

Lindsay Lohan and Leslie Bibb were smashing in a selection of Charlotte Tilbury gems. The best-selling Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray spritzed a dewy finish for all-night charisma. Adam Breuchaud showcased his skill with bestsellers Best of the Best Baked Face Palette Tuscan Dreams and Jelly Balm Hydrating Lip Color. “With the elegant, saturated color, velvet texture, and showstopping volume of the shoulders and waist of the dress, we wanted to keep an effortless aspect to the look with a clean simplicity to the makeup,” says Breuchaud.

And va va voom he did. Also applied on Paulson were Spackle Skin Perfecting Primer in Original Champagne Glow, Better Than Block Skincare-Infused Serum Foundation with Broad Spectrum SPF 50+, Filter Finish Radiant Setting Powder, Always There Lengthening Mascara, and INKcredible Waterproof Gel Eyeliner Pencil.

As Best Actress in a Supporting Role nominee, Monica Barbaro’s talent and beauty are completely known. Celebrity makeup artist Samantha Lau shared expertise with a bevy of L'Oréal Paris. Her makeup lineup combined Lumi Le Glow Tint Foundation in Neutral, Infallible Full Wear Concealer in Biscuit, Infallible Blur-Fection Powder in Translucent Light, and the new Lumi Le Glass Highlighter Stick in Glassy Pink with Le Shadow Stick in Magnetic Mauve, new mascara Paradise Big Deal in Blackest Black, and Colour Riche Lip Liner and Lipstick in Worth It & Au Naturale.

Barbaro’s A Complete Unknown co-star, Elle Fanning, was a vision to behold. She partnered with celebrity makeup artist Erin Ayanian Moore for an exquisite look. “For Elle's makeup I wanted to bring to mind the classic Hollywood beauty of Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and more,” says Moore. Mission accomplished. And as Bob Dylan famously wrote, she looked "Forever Young" in L'Oréal Paris’ True Match Super Blendable Foundation, Lumi Le Liquid Blush in Dewy Bright Pink, new Voluminous Panorama Mascara in All Night Black, Infallible Gel Liner in Black Noir, Colour Riche Lipstick in Ballerina Shoes, and Infallible 3-Second Setting Mist.

Also shimmering in L'Oréal Paris was Kelly Ripa with makeup and skin by Kristofer Buckle. “With Kelly’s coral gown and upswept ponytail I decided to go for well-defined brows and warm eye against a glowing complexion with lots of pink and coral built into the cheek to add some heat to accentuate her golden tan,” says Buckle. “Highlights on the high points of her face and body add an extra sense of freshness and ease, and I kept her lip, a medium nude and glossy.” His go-to’s included True Match Tinted Serum Foundation, Lumi Glotion, Lumi Le Glass Highlighter Stick in Sparkling Rose, Brow Stylist Definer Ash Brown, Brow Lamination, and Paris Plump Ambition Lip Oil in Nude Macaron.

Raffey Cassidy and Tilt Beauty both made mesmerizing Academy Awards debuts. Courtesy of nail artist Mycah Dior and OPI, Erivo was bejeweled à la Wicked wizardry and painted with shades Drama at La Scala, Rated Pea-G, Black Onyx, and Alpine Snow. "We wanted an ode to Oz, to Emerald City," said Erivo on the red carpet. Wish granted.

Rosalía rocked a rich brown thanks to Kim Truong and OPI’s Cliffside Karaoke. Doja Cat, with nails by Saccia Livingston, paraded OPI shade Put It In Neutral. Zola Ganzorigt manicured Hailey Bieber with OPI Passion and Funny Bunny, and gave Vanessa Hudgens’ almond shaped nails iridescence with OPI Brown to Earth.
