Discover beauty through professional reviews
I worked as a Makeup Artist and Beauty Consultant at a small boutique throughout college and fell in love with the industry. My favourite things in the store were skincare consults, special event makeovers, and ear piercings. I originally went to school for psychology but life pushed me in another direction and I haven’t looked back. I continue to do freelance makeup artistry for special events & brides and have continued to expand my knowledge of skincare as well.
I truly believe makeup isn't for hiding anything, it's for being playful, fun, and making your best features front and center. I also advocate for skincare to be used as self-care, because in today's world, we could all use a few minutes at the end of the day to breathe and focus on ourselves.

I know we\’ve all seen those pore vacuums all over social media. As someone who suffers from combo/oily skin and blackheads I\’ve been tempted to buy one myself. But let\’s always think before we hop on those Insta trends (remember the Kylie lip challenge?).
Dermatologists have been warning that those cute little vacuums have been causing some major issues for people. From broken capillaries, bigger pores, tiny bruises/hickies, increased oil production, and more, it\’s not worth the risk.

Lemon juice is too acidic, baking soda is too basic, a homemade scrub can cause microtears in your skin because it’s not fine enough, oh my! Sometimes skincare should be left up to the professionals. We all want to be more aware of what’s going into our bodies and on our faces, but DIY skincare can cause more harm than good unless you really know what you’re doing. If you want all natural, there are some amazing brands that understand what you’re looking for and are here to help (have you heard of CHOBS?). Ask your beauty advisor for a full list!
Don’t let all that essence go to waste!
Responsible consumerism is a trend we can all be a part of. But how do you recycle mascara wands? You can clean them and use them to tame your brows! Or donate to a charity in need. Everyone loves baby animals.
Sensitivity is never fun but there’s a wide range of products meant not only for it but to help combat it. Sunscreen can help prevent flare ups for several conditions.
You only get one body, so take care of it. The less damage skin takes now from the sun’s harmful rays means the less time spent sitting under a laser, scalpel, needle, or intense treatments later on. Both cost effective in the long run and less pain.
Pulling down on your skin will help gravity win over the years. Upwards motions will help your products be more effective!
Our companies at BeautyTap have your best interest in mind, but no one knows your skin quite like you or your personal Beauty Advisor. If you have sensitivity to ingredients, make sure you don’t just read labels and add to cart. Discuss it with us and read through those ingredients. Even though we’re social distancing, no one wants to end up with red inflamed skin on their next zoom meeting.
