My name's Janisa Madison Love & I'm obsessed with skincare first beauty. My experiences in fashion and design shows cemented my love of and need for all things beauty/MUA. As I got into my 30s I began to notice a change in my skin, it had become unbalanced whereas it had always just been normal. I had always hated the way the heavy foundations and concealers felt on my skin and that has never changed. I dove into esthetics & realized my skins overall condition was a reflection of my skincare and nutritional habits. I decided to pursue more education in esthetics so I could better help others learn about their own needs. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful. Beauty is a huge part of my life, and making people feel confident in their unique beauty at any age is a win for me. I make it my business to help people learn more about their own skin and skincare first beauty needs, because nothing satisfies me more to see them looking and feeling fantastic. It means so much to me.

❓Did you know that studies have shown that joy is one of the keys to great skin❓
🖤 Negative emotions disrupt the balance in our gut biom causing breakouts and skin toxicity to occur or worsen.
💙 Meanwhile positive feelings are directly connected with normal skin function.
❣ Studies show that Joy can balance our gut biom and our hormones creating a better environment for our skin to heal itself and carry out the processes involved in cell renewal. This explains why brides & new mothers- for example – simply GLOW on their big days! 😍

I put on my liquid liner using the direction that matches my hand- this really makes it a breeze. I’m right handed- so my left eye gets done from outer to inner corner, my right eye from inner to outer. Remember practice makes perfect!
The best beauty tip I can give you is to know yourself. What do you need to look and feel your best? Explore your face and hair with your finger tips. Map your bone structure. What makes you, you? Take note of your hands and feet, are they cracked and dry or are they smooth and supple? Is you hair or scalp dry or oily? Hows the texture and density? Do you have combination skin, If so where are you oily? Where are you dry.. Or are are you oily and dehydrated? Remember that skin type can change. When was the last time you were evaluated?
It is not enough to learn about the skin, we must learn about our skin. Understanding these things is crucial to applying effective treatments that are goi[Read more]
Today I did a longer winged liner. I muted my bright purples and pinks with seafoam green, earthy brown and shimmer gold. I put lighter hues in the middle fading darker at both corners.. producing a subtle wide eye effect. I used a moisturizing and luminating face primer as well.

Its funny how when you become truly beauty obsessed it leaks into every aspect of your life. I began designing some cute little prints I plan to produce. How does your love for beauty effect you in way that aren’t always obvious or seemingly directly connected to the Industry?
Throw back almost Thursday to 2011. My first live event. I designed all the models from head to toe. 🥰
Tip of the day- Apply your fiber mascaras in layers, allowing the product to dry completely in between applications will avoid clumping. 💋

Boy have I missed this place. The last week has been a whirlwind and I am so happy now to be back on. Beauty and esthetics has always been a very soothing form of self care for me. I truly believe that a good beauty routine is a fundamental component of holistic self care. Part of that is being educated about your skin, hair and even your nails. A deeper understanding of ourselves fosters a better understanding of others. We are a part of a greater circle of beauty, it isn’t just about looking beautiful. Feeling our own beauty, appreciating and loving ourselves is the key to true happiness. There will always be flaws, there will always be things about our uniqueness we feel the urge to com[Read more]
Care for maskne with melanin-rich skin by avoiding harsh exfoliants. Stick with cleansers that contain salicylic acid. If you do use benzoyl peroxide Look for gels, micro-ionized formulas (which penetrate the dermis more effectively with less irritation), and time-released benzoyl peroxide. Don’t use products with more than a 5% concentration. This reduces the risk of PIH or Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. A good wash to use is Bioderma Sebium exfoliating gel. Keeping your routine as simple as possible can help. Se A good retinoid, an antioxidant serum such as vitamin C or niacinamide, and the daily use of a broad spectrum sunscreen containing moisturizer are all safe bets. Dr Oracle [Read more]
The primary goal for treating oily dehydrated skin is to balance the moisture and oil of the skin, soften texture, hydrate and moisturize. Oily skin can have intense lipid secretions and yet be dehydrated. for example, an athlete with oily skin who has just played a football game and is now dripping with sweat could be slick with oil and still be dehydrated . Drinking more water is not always the answer. Serums and water based cremes can be this persons best friend. Bioderma has an excellent micellar solution for removing makeup and dirt without jeopardizing the lipid barrier, causing an increase in oil production as the body reacts to protect itself. Exfoliation is important, in this insta[Read more]
Sensitivity to elements can really appear and worsen after exfoliating treatments and especially with prolonged exposure to sun or dry cold. Even if you haven’t had this issue before. Inflammation in top most layers of the skin on the face can cause redness, itching and even feel hot to touch. Herbal gels such as this one from Sekkisei- my current favorite- can provide and lock in moisture for hours. While cooling and soothing hot, red and inflamed skin cells. Perfect for after exfoliating products. This or a nice aloe gel are great for post retinol burn and before a good spf lotion.
