Exfoliation is the ultimate key to soft, glowing and even skin tone. There are two types of exfoliation, chemical and physical. Chemical exfoliation is usually left on the skin overnight while physical exfoliation is washed off. Regardless of what kind of exfoliation you choose, it should be done 3x a week. And should be followed with a hydrating toner and moisturizer.
D.I.Y. Sunday- Sunday is officially a self care day, where we can unwind, mediate and do yoga with a face mask on. Today’s D.I.Y. topic is how to make your own oil cleanser. I love to start my nighttime skincare routine with a oil cleanser. Oil cleansing is great for taking off your makeup, sunscreen and any other dirt that was accumulated over the day on your face. Hydration should be the main goal of any skincare routine and any skin type. Proper hydration will not only help to give your skin that pump and glowing look, it will also help with acne and product penetration. There are plenty of ways to maximize hydration, for example, the 7 layer method. My favorite way and in my opinion the best way to do so, is to tone after each step of your skincare routine. This would be; Cleanse, Tone, Exfoliate, Tone, Mask, Tone, Serum, Tone, Moisturize & Oil. This method was created by TheGoldenRx, she’s a youtuber and an aesthetician. Check out her video where she gives a more in depth description of this routine.
Summer is here and even though we\’re stuck indoors for the most part, sunscreen is still an essential step in your daily skincare routine. Whether it is a chemical sunscreen or a physical/mineral sunscreen, it should be reapplied every two hours. One of the ways that I found to be helpful when reapplying sunscreen, especially when wearing makeup, is by filling up an empty cushion compact case with my favorite sunscreen. When I wish to reapply my sunscreen, I simply pat the sunscreen unto the cushion then press lightly into my skin, and voila!
