OMG, OMG, Oh. My. Goodness! Coco Park, I finally bought the Blithe Tundra Chaga Pressed Serum and began using it this week, and my skin is in hydration heaven. It’s snowing here today in the So. Cal. mountains, which means the heater is blasting dry air right in my face. I added the serum to my routine on Monday, and I haven’t had the slightest hint of daytime dryness all week.
You were SO right about the texture of this product. It’s silky and rich but not oppressive. My skin loves chaga, so I don’t know why I put off buying this for so long.
These may not be the prettiest lippie pictures ever taken, but if you’re looking for a nice beauty gift for someone this holiday season, these two products are stocking-worthy. The one one the left, surprise, is Sulwhasoo’s Lip Serum in #3 Flower Pink. It moisturizes and can be either light or intense depending on how much you apply. The one on the right is jungsaemmool’s essential tinted lip glow in pink. I go back and forth between these two and love them both equally.
While this product isn’t carried here at Beautytap, I feel compelled to share some positive news about it. I bought this from Peach & Lily on sale and didn’t have the highest of hopes for it. Most growth serums work better when used in conjunction with microneedling procedures, so I doubted it would have much of an effect when used on clean skin. So far, I’m super happy with the results. I use about 4-5 drops after my toner and before other serums. My skin feels noticeably plumper and more resilient after using it for a month, and I’ll definitely be buying it again. It’s a nice addition to my tretinoin, and I’ve made peace with the price tag. About $100. My bottle will probably last a li[Read more]
I keep pulling this Neogen White Truffle Serum in Oil Drop out and wishing I could buy it here on Beautytap. This stuff is lovely. Non-sticky, non-oily. It just sinks in and goes to work. I’ve never had much luck with this brand, but this is my third bottle, and it’s half gone. Time to buy more. Please, Beautytap wish fairy. See if you can add this to the lineup of yumminess. xoxo
Have you ever found something in your stash that you completely forgot was there? I bought Missha’s Misa Geum Sul Vitalizing Finisher a long time ago and tucked it behind my mist collection in my vanity. Last week, I found it and dabbed in on the tops of my cheeks, chin, and forehead, and poof … instant glow. I totally forgot how this can restore the dewy look even when worn over foundation. The bottle’s really pretty, too.
Hi tracyannteel and kimmy! I noticed that Missha isn’t sold on beautytap anymore but A’Pieu is. Then I went to the Missha site and saw that they aren’t selling A’Pieu any longer. Do either of you know what happened with these sister brands? And, kimmy, I agree that Missha product packaging isn’t usually inspired – but their their hanbang lines are made of glass with a traditional-feeling aesthetic and are quite lovely. 🌹
Hi “lightbulb”. 🙂 I haven’t bought anything from Missha’s US site for a while. They had a security issue late last year, which did some pretty big damage in terms of customer confidence, so I haven’t even browsed their products since then. Both brands are available through Jolse, though (but not the Vitalizing Finisher above). You’re absolutely right about the hanbang product bottles. I have an empty MISA Geum Sul First Essence Booster bottle (the gold one) that I can’t seem to throw out ‘cuz it’s just too pretty.
Huh! I had no idea that there was anythign going on at all between those brands. But then,. I’ve never shopped on official sites before, because I love the convenience of getting several brands in one order.
Haha!! I do that too! I was horrified when I realized that I had amassed way more of my HG masks (cos i kept buying when they go on sale) than I had thought! So now, I keep a spreadsheet of all my items including deluxe samples and I make myself go look at that list before buying anything!! AND, I only buy something that is HG and I know I will use a lot of. Lol. It was super super hard to not pick up anything during Beautytap’s amazing Labor Day sale! I was tempted all weekend and looked at my spreadsheet many many times! I think I will cave by the time Black Friday rolls around if not before! 😀
Okay, I\’m ready for another Sulwhasoo sale. I just drained the last precious drops from my First Care Activating Serum. Staring into the empty bottle would normally be stress-inducing, but I have a backup. Now, I need a backup for my backup … and the Timetreasure Renovating Emulsion \’cuz winter\’s a\’comin\’. 🙂
I’m standing right next to you in line waiting for the First Care Activating Serum to go on sale! I want to give it a shot for a few months because everyone goes on and on about how amazing it is
Note to self (and those reading): When you\’re using tretinoin, the microdermabrasion machine is not your friend … even on the lowest setting. Instead of enjoying my regular routine, I f*d up my cheek and have been nursing it with Purito Centella Serum (which I just commented on earlier today), rosehip oil, Cosrx aloe vera gel, and a mugwort mask. I hate how easy it is to mess up a good thing. Breaking open my illi Ceramide Ato cream to see what it can do.
Yeah … not the smartest thing I did this summer. Thankfully, it healed up really well and reminded me to restock some skincare 9-1-1 options (Cosrx Snail Essence, Mizon Snail Recovery Gel Cream, and more).
My cheek healed up nicely within a week, but the first time I did something stupid (overexfoliated), I was at a complete loss. Stay tuned for a product-by-product article on what I think we should all have in our “emergency” skincare kit. 🙂 Article coming soon.
Tracy, I just ordered my first bottle of Curology and am feeling so nervous that it will mess up my skin! I hear such good things about it but have heard some people develop sensitivities too. I’m willing to give it a try to help with the hyperpigmentation and anti aging. I know you love Sulwhasoo and use it too – do you mind sharing how you layer your Curology into your routine? I’d appreciate it sooo much!!! Thank you!!!
mochiandblush, thanks for asking! I’m using prescription tretinoin gel, so it’s not quite the same as Curology. For me, I use it in the evening after, or in place of, AHA/BHA, so I cleanse and use a pH balancing toner then apply the tret. After 20 minutes, I begin the toner, essence, serum, sheet mask, etc. part just like a regular routine. Tracy of fanserviced has a great visual post on the whole routine, so you can see where to use your Curology. Here’s a link: https://www.fanserviced-b.com/a-visual-guide-to-the-korean-skincare-routine/

Tracy! Thanks for your reply! I don’t know how I missed it! Thanks also for the links! I read Fiddy’s account and it was what decided it for me – to try it. But thanks for the feedback. It’s good to know that others also have good experiences with it. Much appreciated! 🙂
It’s been so hot lately that every cream I’ve tried just slides off my face. Humidity doesn’t help…and since when is So. Cal. humid? Ugh. I shopped my stash a couple days ago and found this deluxe sample of AmorePacific’s Essential Creme Fluid. This! This is my new (daytime) best friend. I used one during the winter and wasn’t impressed, but that was my fault. I needed layers back then. Now, I need something light but more hydrating than a gel cream. If this comes back in stock before the summer ends, I’m snatching one up pronto. Hint. Hint. Please. 🙂 https://beautytap.com/product/amore-the-essential-creme-fluid/
Have you changed your nighttime routine as well, or isn’t the sliding-off as bad at night? Is there still any Sulwhasoo in your routine? I’d love to know ❤️
Thankfully, our bedroom is nice and cool, so my nighttime routine still includes a cream (which I rely on since I use tret). Sulwhasoo’s Capsulized Ginseng Fortifying Serum is always in there (often before a nice sheet mask). I have three creams in rotation for the evening: SanDaWha Camellia, Sulwhasoo Bloomstay, and my HG Shangpree Bitgoa Hue Rich Cream.
Oooh, lucky you! AGAIN! You’re living all my skincare dreams, and just hearing about it makes me feel like I vicariously live them through you, just a little. I’ve wanted to try the Capsulized Ginseng Fortifying Serum ever since I’ve read @Jude Chao ‘s glowing review of it. I especially remember her saying something about the serum birting a beautiful skin baby or something. Amazing. Here’s to hoping that will be a daily tap someday – hopefully at the beginning of a month, where I haven’t yet spent all of my “skincare and stuff” budget
This is the first time I’ve heard about the Shangpree Bitgoa Hue Rich Cream, though. I’ll check that out immediately. Edit: I rechecked. The exact…[Read more]
You’re very sweet, Kimmy! I’d hold Fiddy personally responsible for many of my skin care choices except I’m the one in control of the credit card. 🙂 Whenever I read one of her posts or listen to the Snailcast, I put things on my wish list. Two years ago, I swapped out my coffee, lunch, and clothing budgets in favor of skincare. I figure, since I work from home I can wear last season’s clothes and make my own meals. Ba ha ha. My makeup budget is still pretty costly, though, since I adore Koh Gen Do’s Maifanshi Moisture Foundation and Maifanshi Powder (the powder has hyaluronic acid in it, so it’s not at all drying). Let me know if you try the Shangpree cream. It leaves my skin fe…[Read more]
Oh no! Now I also want to try that Maifanshi Powder! I’ve been looking for something to put over my current mega-shiny sunscreen, and so far all three powders I’ve tried have failed me from day one. I don’t want it to accentuate my fine lines, and I don’t want it to make my sulwhasoo-ily hydrated skin feel like it’s wearing a tight mask. I thought setting spray could be the answer, but now you’ve shown me another more likely possibility. Thank you for that!
I find that my skin really changes a lot depending on the season, so I definitely understanding having a product do nothing for you one part of the year and then having a totally different experience with it later on.
I never realized how much my skin varies throughout the year until I started my AB routine. We have four distinct seasons where I live, and I really have to modify my steps with each of them. Throw in some humidity, and I have to start all over. I never thought I’d say this, but I’m really thankful to have such a diverse stash to “shop” from (not like that stops me from buying anything new). 🙂
I love this bumpy little bath buddy! I’ve had a love/hate relationship with my Italy towels over the years because they do a great job but they don’t stay soapy. This little flax “packet” tightens up when wet, so all the little soaps inside bunch together like a cluster of jaw breakers (or rocks…soft rocks, though). It makes my skin crazy soft, and I was surprised by how hydrated my skin felt afterwards. Usually, I’m slathering on lotion while semi-damp, but I didn’t need to do that with this. Now, don’t get me wrong, I still use body lotion afterwards, but my skin didn’t feel tight like it does with most bar soap. I don’t know how many uses I’ll get out of it, but I already know I’ll repu[Read more]
Hi kimmy. Yes, it does a great job exfoliating and making your skin soft. Because of the open nature of the flax weave, it stays soapy for a while, too, which makes it easy to wash your entire body in one pass. I’ve been using it all week, and I’ll report back when I use it up. I feel like I’ll probably get a month’s use out of it, but if I only use it a couple times a week, it should last a while. P.S. I didn’t use any body lotion today (just sunscreen), and my arms and legs are super soft.
Just wanted to update you, Kimmy. I think I’ll get about one more week’s use out of this little scrubby goodie, and I’ve added it to my cart to repurchase. I really like how soft it makes my skin. It’s a little pricey for a bath item, but I’m making up the cost by using less body lotion. It’s a keeper for me.
So…this happened… This picture comprises three separate orders (minus some Eclado masks) that turned into one helluva heavenly hanbang haul. My Sulwhasoo itch has been successfully scratched…and I’m back on low-buy (until Fiddy does it again). #FiddyMadeMeDoIt #BeautytapGetsAllMyMoney
I can’t believe I have all these lovelies myself, kimmy. Right now, I’m loving both the Sulwhasoo FCAS Serum Mist and the Concentrated Ginseng Emulsion the most. The mist is ultra fine, and because it has oil in it, I haven’t needed to add my regular facial oil during my morning routine. I’m following Sulwhasoo’s recommendation on this one and spritzing it in between steps. It’s 90+ degrees here, and I haven’t had any dryness since I started using it.
Very impressive! Also, ultra fine mists are the absolute best. The emulsion I’ve just started using myself – it’s my first ever full-size product from Sulwhasoo, and it has won me over on all counts. All of them!
So…everyone who knows me knows that Beautytap is my primary place to shop. Lately, the lovely and always accurate Jude Chao has helped bring some special Sulwhasoo items to us that can’t be found elsewhere. In the last 12 days, I’ve placed three orders…and when these goodies get here I’ll be rollin’ on the floor like a cat high on catnip. Thank you, Fiddy, and everyone at Beautytap for curating great products and offering amazing deals. My skin will be forever thankful!
Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum Mist at Beautytap
Do you ever find yourself buying something just because it’s pretty? I bought this little pink Sulwhasoo makeup bag, and I honestly have no need for it whatsoever. I work from home and carry a small handbag when I do venture outdoors. Help me give it a functional purpose. What would you use it for?
It’s absolutely lovely! Personally, I’d use it to store my small collection of adorable stickers in it. If I didn’t have that, then I guess I’d use it for storing other pretty things for doing arts and crafts with. Definitely something I would actively use from time to time, so I could feel a happiness jolt every time I used it 😀
That’s a good idea, Kimmy. Right now, it’s on my desk (since I work from home), and it’s filled with hand creams and lip glosses. I think I might fill it up with all my loose Sulwhasoo samples, so I remember where they are. I hope you find a pretty home for your stickers. 🙂
I’ve never been a fan of setting powder because it always made my skin feel crazy dry…then I found the Koh Gen Do Maifanshi face powder. It has hyaluronic acid in it, and the 12 g jar will probably last me a year or more because I primarily use it to set my eye primer and then use just a dusting to set my foundation (also KGD). If you’re looking for a high quality setting powder, this one’s worth the price tag. P.S. I also used By Terry’s Hyaluronic Hydra Powder, which is comparable in price and texture, but I keep reaching for the KGD instead.
My other “precious” … Shangpree Bitgoa Hue Rich Cream. Feels rich and luxurious but dries down well enough to use during the day even under makeup. Yummy.
Sometimes, the pretty things are the only things that get you through a tough week. My Sulwhasoo peony cushion now holds my jewelry while I sleep, and my History of Whoo cushion make me glad I’m a girly girl and finally found a cushion to match my skintone. P.S. This inside shot is the HoW cushion, and it’s available here (https://beautytap.com/product/history-of-whoo-hwahyun-essence-cushion-spf50-pa/)!
I need your help and recommendations, friends. It’s getting warm here in the So. Cal. mountains, and I’d love to find a few refreshing gel masks to use in the morning. I’m looking for something basic, hydrating, maybe soothing or brightening. Just something I can slather on and roam around the house in for 20 minutes or so and then wash off. I used a LOVEISDERMA gel mask last year and enjoyed the cooling effects. Thanks for your help!
The SanDaWha antioxidant camellia mask is a gel mask and it’s cool because it’s got bits of real camellia flower in it! It’s a nice mask and I love that it gives me an antioxidant boost in the summer.
Mmmm. I forgot all about that one! I put it on my wishlist a while back. Thank you, annapark! I’m loving the SanDaWha camellia cream, so I’m adding this to my cart right now.
In the spirit of fully testing something before writing it off, I happily picked up the Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum EX Plum Blossom limited edition today. The sample bottle I had was only 15ml, so perhaps my early assessment wasn’t accurate enough. My original reservations about the increased price tag have been alleviated by beautytap’s great sale price ($55 for 90ml!). I love the original, have a full bottle backup in my stash, and will report back with a more in-depth review in June of this limited edition. For now, I’m thrilled to have the pretty bottle heading my way…and I’m ever so grateful to the Beautytap team for taking requests! Even if this is a summer fling for me, it[Read more]
It sold out really fast, but maybe they’ll be able to get more soon. I always check beautytap first thing in the morning (even before checking email) since their daily tap deals are so good. I’ve become rather dedicated to this shop (3 purchases in 6 weeks).
I feel like such a fraud. I’m wearing my “I Heart KR” shirt from Kmall24, and the only product in my current routine with snail secretion in it is the Ladykin snail cream that I use on my arms. Ba ha ha. I need a new snaily favorite. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I wanted to like the Cosrx Snail Essence, myrebelliousskin, but it didn’t wow me. Aside from snail sheet masks, I haven’t found my HG snail product yet, so the search continues.
I remember my first snail product being the Benton snail bee essence, I liked it enough to repurchase multiple times, that is until I found the Cosrx snail essence. I’ve also tried the Mizon snail line, but found it pretty meh. Even though I like Cosrx snail essence, the accompanying snail cream doesn’t do anything for my dry as a desert skin.
I’ve heard good things about the Swanicoco snail fermentation line. I use their bitamin c line and it’s pretty good. I’m sorry I’m not of much help, haven’t tried that many snail products, I hope you find what you’re looking for. 😊
Sandawa products are really good. I strongly recommend you. And Have you tried PURITO’s product? It is good too. there are good ingredient in almost all products.<3<3
I just received my first three SanDaWha products. The Camellia cream smells lovely, and my skin’s really liking the Liposome Skin Softener and Cream. I ordered the Purito Centella and am looking forward to trying it, too. Thanks for the recommendations. Looks like we think alike. 🙂
Sometimes, internet lust let’s you down. In early April, I started seeing pictures of the Sulwhasoo First Care Activating Serum with Plum Blossom in the pretty pink and white bottle. My heart skipped several beats, and I tracked down a reputable eBay seller and bought the four-piece kit in the deluxe sample size (about $28). I wish I could say I’m thrilled with it, but I’m honestly pretty sad that it doesn’t have the characteristic Sulwhasoo fragrance or even a hint of plum blossom in it. The water is just plain meh; the serum is sticky AF, and while I like the cream’s pretty pink color and texture, it doesn’t thrill me the way I wanted it to (Shangpree Bitgoa Hue Rich Cream reigns supreme i[Read more]
I couldn’t agree more, annapark. Usually, I’m skeptical and wait for someone else to review things like this…and now I remember why. Thankfully, I have a fresh bottle of the FCAS from Beautytap, and today it restored my faith in Sulwhasoo. That scent is everything! Gonna stick to the tried and true from now on. #LessonLearned
I always feel like the original of these kinds of products will continue to be the cream of the crop. Although I will say, I’m super curious to try out something from their Snowise line; I’m a sucker for silver and those silver caps look so pretty lol
I decided that, perhaps, my original deluxe sample didn’t give me a full enough experience to critique this edition properly…so, when beautytap put it on sale, I grabbed a bottle. I’ll comment again in June after giving it a more elongated trial.

Thanks!

I’ve heard good things about the Swanicoco snail fermentation line. I use their bitamin c line and it’s pretty good. I’m sorry I’m not of much help, haven’t tried that many snail products, I hope you find what you’re looking for. 😊
