Sometimes, I feel the need to revisit a product that I’ve been loving just to share a long-term perspective. In 2021, I wrote about Laura Geller’s Prep Stick Lip Scrub in an editorial for Beautytap, and since my original tube is almost gone, I thought you’d like to know that I’m purchasing a replacement as soon as I finish this post.The Highlights: I love lip scrubs but hate the mess. Geller solved that problem by making a stick form that doesn’t disappear with just a week’s use. I’ve had mine for nearly two years, and I use it at least three times a week after brushing my teeth in the morning. The oil combination (avocado, grapeseed, and jojoba) leaves lips feeling soft and kissable, and the sugar actually tastes good.Tips for Use and Storage: I rub this over my lips in small circles instead of side to side. That eliminates aggressive removal of chapped skin. Over time, I noticed that the oils settled to the bottom of the formula, so I store this upside down to keep the tip fresh.Closing Thoughts: This truly was a keeper and even though I have other traditional scrubs (in jars) I still prefer this one.

I really wanted to love this lip scrub however upon opening the entire contents fell out of the tube and onto the floor. I had to scrape off some of the product and then try to put back into the tube. So Needless to say I am not a fan of the packaging. The overall appearance is a sleek black tube that gives me 90s vibes which is not a bad thing. The lip product itself works as described, when you apply you can feel the sugar crystals doing their job exfoliating and I do like that you have the option of tissuing it off or just licking it off your lips as it is a sugar-based product, and being drenched with plant-based butters it leaves behind a hydrating balm eliminating the need to apply a second product. As a makeup artist it would be nice to have in my kit for on the go lip prep. As a consumer, I do not love that there is aspartame in a product that I can ingest. I stay away from any gum or mints that contain aspartame as it is a chemical that is not good for you in a regular basis. This will go in my kit however as a lip prep for brides.

Laura Geller Prep Stick Lip Scrub is an convenient way of exfoliating your lips. I do love lip scrubs and believe that everyone should have one. The fact that this come in a tube is amazingly mess free - as a make up artist I love it. This uses real sugar that gently exfoliates dead skin cells to leave soft lips behind. This has avocado oil ( heals chapped skin), jojoba oil (moisturize), grape seed oil (helps to hydrate), vitamin E (antioxidant), and shea butter (boosts moisture). Your lips should look amazing. I know mine does ! It says it is gentle to use everyday but I wouldn’t just because exfoliating can leave to over drying of any part of you skin. Don’t be alarmed if your lips are pinker, that’s just blow flow. I used this in a tiny circle motion along my lips and lip line for extra smoothness. I do try not to lick it off so I would use a damp tissue. I love to use this before a liquid matte/matte lipstick and gloss  (I am sorry but I’ve seen some lips that gloss can’t fix) for that flawless finish.
