As a professional makeup artist in the entertainment industry, I love testing out new products that I can use myself as well as use in my kit on set and recommend to my clients. Brushes are a big part of my kit and I have tested dozens of brands from cheap to expensive. I am absolutely in love with this Kabuki Brush by Laura Geller. It is incredibly dense, but still soft which gives liquid and cream makeups an almost airbrushed flawless application. So far with multiple deep cleanings, it has not lost any bristles and it retains its shape when dried again. The bristles are synthetic, so it is easy to wash with brush shampoo or a mild baby shampoo. I love that it is retractable and travel friendly and I have to admit that I am keeping it in my own personal makeup bag because I love it so much.

As a makeup artist of 10 years I have become super picky with what brushes I will use for both personal and professional make up application. Laura geller is a great brand and has been an artist staple for years so I was super excited to try the retractable airbrush kabuki brush. One of my biggest pet peeves about packing a makeup bag is traveling with brushes so I was very happy to see this brush was travel friendly and retractable. The brush itself was very plush and soft and I didn’t notice any shedding (although I haven’t done a deep clean brush wash with it yet) This brush is pretty dense and good for applying concentrated coverage but can also be used to buff and blend. This is a perfect complement for many of the amazing baked Laura geller products. I had a bit of an issue with the retractable feature but overall i enjoyed using this brush.

As a beauty profesional, I have a tendency to use and abuse my brushes. Brushes are one of the products in a professionals tool kit that we have to take extra care of and have to repruchase often. I must say that I don't usually use short kabuki brushes in my kit but this one would be great to have in there! I ultimately decided to use this is my personal brush stash. The Laura Geller Retractable Airbrush Kabuki Brush is very travel-friendly. It is dense enough to buff out powder foundation but not to dense, so perfect for liquid foundation as well. The bristles are super soft so using the brush to pat in foundation in certain spots for fuller coverage is great because there is no poking into your skin. The bristles are synthetic so they are super easy to clean using a brush shampoo.
