My hair is a mess! My last trip to a salon was in February 2020 before the globe shut down. And my darling hairstylist moved to Georgia. And then, you know, life. Until I find another, I’ve been relying on really top-of-the-line products for whatever upkeep I can do. I’m an esthetician, I’ve worked in spas and salons for the past 25 plus years, so I’ve been taught by some great hairstylists what I need for my hair. So I was thrilled to be asked to review Leaf Legacy Hemp & Avocado Serum. This serum contains avocado and hemp oils and an array of essential oils. All of these moisturize and smooth the hair. But I was interested in their patented FiberHance formula, so I went online and found that the solution is a small molecule that’s designed to strengthen hair from inside the fiber by penetrating deep into the cortex and creating new hydrogen and ionic bonds that support the internal keratin structure. This provides improved strengthening up to 3X that of untreated hair and improved manageability back to hair that has been damaged by chemical and other harsh treatments. Wow! I used about a nickel-sized amount in my hair. A little does go a long way. It feels oily and slippery. That's from dimethicone, which is one of the major ingredients in this serum. I love the way it makes my hair feel, but it builds up in the hair which prevents the hair from achieving a proper moisture balance. Excess use of dimethicone can result in dry, brittle ends that are prone to breakage. I've had that experience with other products, so I have a clarifying shampoo on hand to use once a week. This serum is so far so good. My hair feels silky smooth and it tames the flyaways. My hair is thin and porous, but my hair never felt weighed down. If you have thick and/or curly hair, you will love this product. And at $7.99 for a 6-ounce bottle, you won't worry about how much you need to do use. All the essential oil gives it a wonderful aroma. I look forward to trying the rest of the line.

This serum was a life saver for my hair extensions! I used the Leaf Legacy Hemp & Avocado Serum on my hair in between styling to keep it looking polished and maintained. This product claims to make hair 3x stronger using fiberhance technology. I can say the results were noticed because my hair did not experience deterioration though hot tools and manipulation was used. With this product I was truly fascinated at how little of it can make such a change in the hair’s appearance. I used a dime size amount little by little so it did not weigh down the hair or make it greasy. The directions state to use on damp hair but I also used this product on my dry hair daily to spruce it up.
