I deliver essential hydration and protection from the neck down, but I’m not a sunscreen–you won’t even know that broad-spectrum SPF is there. My sheer, non-sticky formula melts into the skin, proven to leave you feeling smoother and softer.

I am a half Irish, half Dutch esthetician, so if you had to ask I’d tell you the most important part of any skin and body care routine is sunscreen. Having worked at Sephora and big department stores, I have had access to more sunscreens than I can possibly list, both high end and more cost effective options. The most important aspects for me are how easily the product sinks into my skin, how easily it is to remove at the end of the day, and that it doesn’t leave a white cast on my skin or make me break out. Most importantly, I need it to protect my skin! Where does this sunscreen fall with those categories?I’d say about right in the middle. I didn’t get burnt once while I was wearing it which was wonderful, but I did notice that it took a lot of effort to have it sink in to my skin, plus I don’t think it layered well with other spray sunscreens. But it was easy to wash off at the end of the day and I didn’t feel like I had to scrub at my skin to get it off.

I was really excited about trying out VERSED Total Package Replenishing Body Lotion Mineral SPF 30, but sadly, it fell short of my expectations. It brought it with me on vacation, but instead of a radiant glow, I ended up looking dull and oddly purple. I hated it! Clearly, it wasn't designed with all skin tones in mind. On the bright side, it's water-resistant and provides excellent protection. A single application was enough for my entire day under the scorching Bahamian sun in mid July - and we all know how intense that can be! Surprisingly, I didn't get sunburned during the entire trip, which is a plus for me. So, while it's a winner in terms of sun protection, it leaves much to be desired when it comes to achieving a glowing complexion. If you're of color, I do not recommend it.

It actually makes me use it way more than a product that would only do one thing. I feel most of us tend to be vigilant about wearing sunscreen on our faces, but forget or skip the rest of our body unless we specifically go to the beach or pool. And I don't know about everyone else, but I typically just apply some moisturizer after a shower or maybe a quick little bit on my elbows and legs before going to bed. The Versed Body Lotion is so incredibly convenient because it combines both the sunscreen and moisturizer into one product applied in one quick step. I have noticed that I have not skipped a single day of application on my arms, legs and neck since I have received the product, and I definitely plan on purchasing it again (very soon since I am almost out!). Versed is truly cruelty-free. They don't test finished products or ingredients on animals, and neither do their suppliers or any third-parties. They also don't sell their products where animal testing is required by law.
