Known as “the go-to brand for eyes,” Eyeko has arrived with a stable of coveted mascaras, brow gels, shadows, and eyeliners guaranteed to play up one of our most alluring features.

Ever wonder how a brand develops a cult following? Beauty editors, celebrities and influencers often play a key role in whether or not a brand gains mainstream attention or falls by the wayside, and one surefire way to get noticed is to focus on one thing and to do it really well.

Eyeko’s entire lineup consists of eye-opening mascaras, intensifying eyeliners, cream eyeshadows, and brow enhancers

In 1999, Max and Nina Leykind set out to “open eyes everywhere to a new idea of beauty.” Instead of creating a product for every possible need, Eyeko’s entire lineup consists of eye-opening mascaras, intensifying eyeliners, cream eyeshadows, and brow enhancers.

Considering our eyes are the only feature most people see these days, it’s more important than ever to find products that help our peepers pack more punch. Irregularities in our sleep patterns and Zooming all day have taken a toll on our eyes. Eyeko to the rescue!

Beauty aficionados will recognize Eyeko’s squeezy tubes and tubing formulas instantly, and the brand’s Black Magic Mascara and Black Magic Liquid Eyeliner continue to seduce fans in search of stellar lashes and a fierce wing.

Since mascara mavens and liner lovers have varying needs, Eyeko’s eye-centric lineup goes above and beyond to address everything necessary to showcase the windows to your soul.

Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara
Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara ($26)

Alert Mascara

Show of hands here – thin, straight, skimpy lashes? Anybody? Eyeko gets you. Fiber-infused mascaras abound, but Eyeko Alert Mascara’s short-bristled, curved comb brush and botanically-enriched formula make application smooth instead of wonky. You’ll see the tiny fibers on the brush head, but they don’t clump like other brands I’ve used.

My slightly sensitive eyes hate what can only be described as “fiber fall,” but this formula didn’t do that at all. The ingredient list also makes this a slam dunk for skincare nerds. Regenerative biotinoyl tripeptide, reparative arginine, nourishing shea butter, and stimulating biotin and caffeine lavish lashes instead of damaging them. Score!

Eyeko Beach Waterproof Mascara
Eyeko Beach Waterproof Mascara ($26)

 Waterproof Mascara

Even if it’s not hot and humid where you spend your days, life still happens – and no one needs raccoon eyes. Eyeko’s Beach Waterproof Mascara contains waterproof pigment and holds up beautifully on sticky summer days.

The hard-bristled, hourglass brush makes it easier to intensify the tiny lashes on the inner and outer corners while gently lifting and separating them. When using most hourglass-shaped brushes, I end up with mascara on my upper lid. But, if you usually opt for a comb-style brush, you’ll be surprised at how easy this brush makes “making up.”

The coconut-enriched formula applies without clumping or weighing down the lashes. No small feat there! Bonus: It’s suitable for vegans and you can layer the Beach Waterproof over the Lash Alert to seal in the fibers and make the effect lasts all day.

Eyeko Sport Waterproof Eyeliner Black ($22)

Waterproof Eyeliner

Pencil purists, get ready to rejoice! If you’re still dragging that dry pencil across your delicate lid, stop right now. Eyeko’s Sport Waterproof Eyeliner truly glides across the skin. Just like the Beach Waterproof Mascara, the coconut oil conditions the skin while delivering pitch-black pigment that’s incredibly forgiving.

Had too much coffee? No worries. Even my least accurate strokes were easily remedied with the attached brush. I could even create a baby wing by joining multiple dots and dashes instead of trying to draw one complete line at 6 a.m.

If eyeliners could have human traits, I’d describe this as patient, forgiving, and tenacious because once it sets, it stays all day. It also works when tightlining and doesn’t transfer onto contact lenses or the lower waterline.

Eyeko Galactic Lid Gloss Stardust
Eyeko Galactic Lid Gloss Stardust ($20)

Lid Gloss in Stardust

Maybe it’s a summer thing, or maybe it’s a WFH thing, but doing full eye makeup just doesn’t suit me lately. Cream eyeshadows are my jam. They’re forgiving, easy to apply, and often look really natural … except for glitter.

After swatching the shimmery, metallic, silver gel on my hand, I honestly thought it wouldn’t hold up to all-day wear. To be safe, I applied this with a flat brush, patting the product onto the center of my lid, taking care not to blink as the liquid formula dried down.

There was no fallout below the eyes at mid-day or even at 8 p.m., but it did transfer slightly above the crease of my eye because I have hooded lids. On day two, I simply set it with translucent powder, and it performed like a champ. Problem solved!

Eyeko Brow Gel Light Brown
Eyeko Brow Gel Light Brown ($24)

 Gel in Universal Brown

Since no “eye lineup” would be complete without a brow product, I gave Eyeko’s Brow Gel a whirl with extreme skepticism. The combination of multivitamins, proteins, keratin, gingko biloba, and garcinia mangostana fruit extract enticed me, despite my fear of the shade running too dark or too warm (i.e., yellow). After all, who doesn’t want to quickly groom, color, and thicken their brows simultaneously?

The Brow Gel applies very wet but is easy to blend with an angled brush (mine’s a Smashbox 12). Once dry, the finish and color looked natural and kept my wayward brows in place all day. No longer a cynic, I reach for this daily. It just goes to show that you can teach an old dog – cat, a mature cat – a new trick.
