Esteemed TV elite charmed the red carpet with charismatic styles.

Hollywood creatives sparkled at the Emmy Awards 75th diamond anniversary. It was an iconic year for newcomers and cherished seasoned pros from some of the most beloved shows on television. Actors celebrated their peers with authentic admiration and meaningful speeches focused on challenges, triumphs, and dreams coming true.

Emmys 2024

Postponed since September 2023 due to actor and writer strikes, television luminaries graced this year’s event with dazzle and delight. And the beauty looks that wowed were worth the wait. Glowing skin, romantic waves, bold lipsticks, dramatic eyes, and unique glam were abuzz.

Brilliant Lips

Matte and glossy, breathtaking burgundy, perfect plums, bright Barbie pinks, delicate nudes, and scintillating reds—a rainbow of shades made a statement.

Padma Lakshmi sizzled in hot pink lipstick with eyeliner to match. Selena Gomez wore her own line of Rare Beauty's liner and lipstick in shades Strong (a rich chocolate) and Bold (a deep berry rose). Emmy winner and first black woman to win Best Comedic Actress Quinta Brunson, star and creator of Abbott Elementary, flashed her extraordinary smile, outlined with blush lips to highlight her showstopping pink satin Dior dress. Fleishman Is in Trouble star Lizzy Caplan was powerful in a brick red pucker, courtesy of makeup artist Jenna Kristina and Maybelline.

Katherine Heigl

A rosy-red kisser harmonized with Katherine Heigl’s majestic red gown and Grace Kelly-esque hair. Also ravishing in red lips were Tracee Ellis Ross and Juliette Lewis. And Succession star and Emmy winner Sara Snook’s luscious liner and lip hues were swoon-worthy. Forever a celebrity darling, Charlotte Tilbury’s K.I.S.S.I.NG lipstick accentuated nominee Jessica Chastain’s exemplary style. And Chanel’s 31 Le Rouge Satin Lipstick in Rouge Beige is a fan favorite gracing Margot Robbie, Ali Wong, Emily Blunt, Jennifer Aniston, Brie Larson, Keri Russell, Ellen Pompeo, and Issa Rae so far this awards season.

Essential Skincare

Fabulous faces flourished with nourished skin. A new Lancôme Global Ambassador, and star of Wednesday Joy Sunday’s super short hair showed off her flawless skin (she touts the brand’s Genifique line as a fave). Undaunted by her ongoing battle with MS, nominee Christina Applegate’s grace and humor was a highlight of the evening, as was her cheerful and glowing visage. And her co-presenter Carol Burnett, nearly ageless at 90, flaunted a no joke peaches and cream complexion.

The White Lotus star Beatrice Grannò radiated La Dolce Vita. Makeup artist Carolina Gonzalez applied cult-favorite made in Italy brand Furtuna Skin’s new Triple Active Exfoliator to smooth, Face & Eye Serum to lift, Biphase Moisturizing Oil to hydrate, and Replenishing Balm to, yes, replenish.

Mama-to-be and Daisy Jones & The Six star Suki Waterhouse glowed in a red Valentino gown and newly launched Naked Sundays Cabana Glow SPF 50 Mineral Glow Serum Drops. “I accentuated Suki’s natural glow by using Naked Sundays products that illuminate the skin and protect against the sun’s harmful rays; they’re a real hybrid between sunscreen and skincare,” says makeup artist Benjamin Puckey. He also used Naked Sundays Collagen Glow 100% Mineral Lotion SPF 50 infused with vegan collagen and watermelon extract; Golden Glow Body Sunscreen SPF 50 with gold flecks and green tea extract; and the SPF Body Buffing Brush.

Nominated for Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Anthology for Tiny Beautiful Things, Kathryn Hahn was splendid in vintage Dior couture. Makeup artist Fiona Stiles styled Hahn’s luminous look with a pre-makeup Yon-Ka Paris skincare routine (No. 1 Serum, Phyto-Countrou, Creme 28 Hydratant Douceur, and Vital Defense Brume Multi-Protection) and ADDICTION TOKYO makeup (The Glow Stick in two tones: The Sun I Can Touch and Feel the Heat, See the Light). “I really focused on skin prep and beautiful, supple highlights; an understated, but defined eye; a nicely cleaned, shaped brow; and then this beautiful, dimensional Bordeaux lip,” says Stiles who warms up products in her hands before application so they sink in for max absorption. “The Yon-Ka Paris No. 1 Serum was incredible here because it’s hydrating, but there’s no tackiness—it plays beautifully with makeup,” she says.

Aubrey Plaza

The White Lotus stars were impeccably prepped; makeup artist Kathy Jeung exclusively applied L'Oréal Paris makeup and skincare for Aubrey Plaza’s bellissima look; and celebrity facialist Lord Gavin McLeod Valentine pampered Meghann Fahy and Leo Woodall with The Method Augustinus Bader using The Cleansing Balm, The Cream Cleansing Gel, The Face Oil, The Face Cream Mask, and The Ultimate Soothing Cream—a supreme indulgence for resplendent skin. (Valentine also prepped Emily Blunt and Lily Gladstone for the 2024 Critic’s Choice Awards the night before the Emmys and a roster of stars for the 2024 Golden Globes).

Fit for Royalty

Best Supporting Actress nominee and star of The Crown Elizabeth Debicki’s regal visage was prepped by celebrity makeup artist Nina Park with Guerlain skincare and makeup. “I wanted to highlight Elizabeth’s natural grace and poise with a makeup look that felt both timeless and sophisticated,” says Park. And that she did. Terracotta Le Teint Foundation in 0.5W and Terracotta Light the Sun-Kissed Healthy Glow Powder in 01 Clai were a masterly foundation. Her eyes were accentuated with shimmering shadow and Noir G mascara. And lips made lovely with Rouge G Lipstick in 258 Rosewood Beige, topped with KissKiss Bee Glow Honey Tint Balm in 809 Lavender Glow.

Long Lashes and Sensational Shadows

After a prevalent no makeup-makeup trend at this year’s Golden Globes, artistically embellished eyes were a welcome surprise.

Following her Golden Globes stunner, Insecure and Barbie star Issa Rae wore another exquisite Pamella Roland gown complemented by pearlescent Chanel Ombre Première Laque Longwear Liquid Eyeshadow in Rayon. E! red carpet host Laverne Cox’s dynamic lashes fluttered around stellar metallic eyeshadow. Sheryl Lee Ralph awed with a touch of luminescence toward her inner eye.

The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge looked extra luxe thanks to revered makeup artist Hung Vanngo and celebrity and pro adored Lashify lashes in layers. “I first applied Lashify Gossamers® F10, F12, and F14 from inner to outer corner and then stacked F14 on the outer upper corner,” says Vanngo. The finished look was captivating.

Vanngo also glammed up singere-actress Selena Gomez, star of Only Murders in the Building with standout lashes. “For tonight’s Emmy Awards, I created a bespoke, dimensional lash look for Selena Gomez using Lashify,” he says. “I first applied B8, B10, D10, D12 from inner to outer corner. For extra volume, I stacked a few C12 on the outer upper corner.”

Ellen Pompeo

Ellen Pompeo was finely prepped by makeup artist Kate Lee with Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Winter Glow Blush in Rose Polaire and Mauve Glacé—just what the doctor ordered; and her tousled pony made my daily hairdo feel en vogue.

Award Worthy Hair

A-listers were bedecked in bouncy curls, grand updos, shiny length, messy ponytails, refined bangs, rich colors, and loose locks that softly framed faces.

Beef star Ali Wong made history as the first Asian woman to win a lead acting award at the Emmys; she beamed in a vibrant Louis Vuitton gown, smart glasses, and glistening raven waves styled by Clayton Hawkins using ghd’s Curve Soft Curl iron. The Diplomat’s Kerri Russell looked diplomatic in her straight middle part, chic chignon, and statuesque dress. Wednesday’s Jenna Ortega donned her signature fringe. The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri beautified a minimalist bob. Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddington glorifed a platinum upsweep. Nabiyah Be , one of the stars of Daisy Jones & The Six was a braided beauty in golden attire.

And accessories adorned—pink ribboned buns were adorable on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’s Alfie Fuller; nominated for her role in Welcome to Chippendales, Annaleigh Ashford was angelic in a sparkly barrette; and Martin star Trichina Arnold wore a dapper chapeau.

Nominee Rachel Brosnahan was simply “Marvelous” in glistening tresses (sans flyaways!) made possible by hOURS Haircare and hair stylist Owen Gould. “It was important the hair look voluminous and healthy, so hOURS was the perfect fit,” says Gould. “The inspiration was sleek and clean hair to complement Rachel’s Versace dress. We wanted the hair tucked behind the ears and then smooth and cascading down the back.” Mission accomplished with hOURS Full-Time Plumping Mousse, Wild Card Matte Texture Spray, Well Traveled Tousle + Shine Spray, and Mostly Modest Flexible Hairspray.

OLAPLEX is a go-to for celebrity stylists and OLAPLEX Nº.7 Bonding Oil was a popular choice for Emmy locks – now available in a larger 2 oz size. Cervando Maldonado, who styled Kirsten Dunst’s retro updo, says “The Nº.7 Bonding Oil is a multi-use, multi-faceted product that can be used in so many different ways. You can use it for really sleek styles to put into the hair when it's damp and blown out. You can also use it in natural styles so that your ends are a little less frizzy, and create more shine to the hair.”

The White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza’s classic look à la Brigette Bardot was designed by Mark Townsend with a bevy of OLAPLEX magic—Bond Maintenance Shampoo and Conditioner, Bond Smoother, Volumizing Blow Dry Mist, Bonding Oil, and “To give her lots of long lasting volume at the crown I liberally sprayed 4D Clean Volume Dry Shampoo on her roots and lightly back combed the hair for lift,” says Townsend. “I like to use dry shampoo on bangs instead of hairspray because hairspray can leave them looking wet and heavy whereas dry shampoo keeps them full.” And Aubrey’s beautiful brown shade was created by celebrity colorist Tracey Cunningham and polished with OLAPLEX.

Celebrity stylist Rena Calhoun gave Beatrice Grannò a playfully elegant look with OLAPLEX Volumizing Blow Dry Mist, Bonding oil, and Clean Volume Dry Shampoo. “I usually like to do the bangs in the very beginning when the hair is wet because most people have cowlicks in their hairline,” says Rena. Pro tip: blow dry at medium speed and heat. “If you use too high of heat, it can make the hair feel a little too silky and too slippery, and it takes away from me being able to mold it. It's harder to work with,” she says.

The White Lotus star Simona Tabasco blossomed in a Marni dress and enchanting waves by hair stylist Peter Lux using OLAPLEX signature products. “I love using the Bonding Oil on wet hair before blow-drying as it provides the hair with nourishment and the shine it leaves on the hair is unmatched. My favorite product to start off any look,” says Lux.
